Can you do the Rover 75 door card with similar beige fabric to the original. Many 75 suffer the problem of sagging door cards fabric due to the age.
@coastalcushionco82272 ай бұрын
Yes. The OEM fabric may be available. If you email me a photo of the fabric I can check

Hello there I've taken the front passenger door card off and prepared for recovering with a leather like effect in Gray color. Now has come to my thinking is how do I restick the recovered part to the rest of the doorcard to make it complete again?

@@coastalcushionco8227Ive taken off one of the door covers and the door card is in three parts plus a Metal holder. These three parts have to be separated to take thr old covering off
@yorkshire6458 Жыл бұрын
@@coastalcushionco8227 as I said after taking the Material apart from the doorcard ive suddenly got three pieses of doorcard plus the metal ankering part that bolts to the back of the card,which ankers its self to the door and is the securing for the inside doorhandle. The three parts of the doorcard were glued together which I had to drill way to separate the parts from each other,leaving me to pull of the old Material from the backing card. I still have to clean the old glue off so that I stick the new cloth on, after this is Finished and dryed,I then need to recornect these parts together to make Up the doorcard again.

What glue or tiny screws or even heated glue from a gluegun
@coastalcushionco8227 Жыл бұрын
@@yorkshire6458 Now I understand what you mean. To reattach the pieces of the door card together use Easy drive 4.2mmx13mm button head dry wall screws from Screwfix, in all the places where you drilled out the plastic welds

Absolutely fantastic job! You have to wonder how much BMW engineering went into the design of those components. The 75 was arguably one of the best products to come from Rover. The ideas and the designs were pretty good, even if you go back to the original 800's, but the execution and quality were lacking, however with the 75 they were able to bring together the design ideas with, thanks to BMW quality control and engineering, the finish to produce a great car. Problem was the scum media and certain a******* TV motoring presenters got their claws into the company for the benefit of a distorted story and improved ratings. Only in this country could we sabotage the last bit of British motoring! As I say, the lot of 'em are scum! Had things worked out differently, and the dreadful short sited Labour government of the time been more generous with the funding for BMW's modernisation plan, the then forthcoming all new smaller Rover hatchback which was nearing production, would have saved the company, and the brand would still be with us today. In that regard, given that TATA is moving the Jaguar brand much further upmarket, whether given they own the Rover name whether in the future there maybe some possibility of a new Rover passenger car range to sit somewhere in the Land Rover stable...
