This is great. Those moves were not terribly difficult on ice. Now I'm struggling to just get rolling on quads. My appreciation for artistic skaters gets greater when I watch these advanced tests. Not easy.

yes! I did a lot of ice skating growing up and think it's far easier on ice - way harder on quads!

Agh it’s the most unnatural and awkward position ever. Try using the leg as momentum. Stand on the leg you’re not intending to skate on swing the skating leg across your body and put it down and push from the instep of step of the other foot. This gives the t push some ummph rather than a very static push. Hope this makes sense. I need to do a video on this.

I’ve just moved on to grade 6 and alongside the grade work we’re doing travelling footwork stuff to incorporate into programmes as we progress. I’d love to see a video or two with basic footwork steps so I can practice more! 🫶
