Very useful for how to reactivate the starter, I have been on my bread baking journey now for going on 2 years and just started making my first starter 3 days ago and about to embark on my sourdough journey. One question - what are the measurements for the bread dough?

I tried cutting my parchment with handles like you show and it worked great, no sticking and easier to lift. Much easier than a rectangle and yesterday my bread stuck to my Dutch oven. Thanks!

I never thought of refrigerating before scoring- cool idea. If you’re taking requests, I’d love to see how you do with the “Basic Country Loaf” from the ”Tartine Bread” book.

Awesome job!! Looks amazing. I didn't think about giving away loaves as gifts, but that is a great idea for the holidays. Any tips for baking several loaves at a time?
@PaigeBurrows4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Cindy!! I thought they’d be so cool for gifts! And they’re fun to make so its a win win! 😉 I have two Dutch ovens, and they both fit on the top rack together, so that definitely helps lol. But if you only have one Dutch oven, just make sure you let it get hot again after you take one of the loaves out! 😉

@@PaigeBurrows Perfect! I only have one dutch oven so it may take me a couple hours to bake them all. I'm hoping its not too stressful! haha.

How much of each do we combine? The book has me confused

Just put dough in basket and put in refrigerator overnight to proof? Does it rise in basket? I’m looking forward to your video on the alchemy sourdough.
@PaigeBurrows4 жыл бұрын
Putting the dough in the fridge doesn’t entirely stop the rise but it slows it down a lot. I didn’t notice any rise from it while it was in there overnight. So yes, it’s as simple as popping it in the fridge after it proofs :) Thank you so much, Jil! I can’t wait to share that video!!

I have a suggestion!!! You should cook your way through The Elder Scrolls Official Cook Book!!

Now THAT would be awesome!!!!!! Might need to add that to my Christmas list :) thank you for the recommendation!

Can I ask what brand of parchment paper you are using? I bought some a few months ago but at 475F, it stuck to my loaves and I couldn't get it off. :-(
@PaigeBurrows4 жыл бұрын
It’s actually just the generic store brand! It’s the cheapest 😉 I got it from wal mart, it’s the great value brand. I use it every time I bake and it’s never stuck to a loaf. Even when I bake loaves at 475. I hope this helps!!

@@PaigeBurrows Thanks! Yes, it does help! I bought mine from Dollar Tree and never had a problem with it until recently.

Now that you say that, I have used Dollar Tree’s parchment paper and it stuck to my loaf!!
@PaigeBurrows4 жыл бұрын
Or is it a possibility it was wax paper? Because I’ve made the mistake of using that by accident and it was REALLY stuck to my loaves lol
@helpfulnatural4 жыл бұрын
@@PaigeBurrows Oh no!! The Dollar Tree near me was out of parchment paper for months at the beginning of the pandemic. When they finally got more in stock, I bought several rolls to hold me over. It doesn't feel the same as before, as if the non-stick coating is missing maybe. I'm using it up in my air fryer and probably won't buy it again after sticking to my sourdough loaves that take so much time and effort. :-(
