I feel like that pose was created by someone who was in bow pose and fell over, then tried to play it off like they meant to do that.

hi kino! thank you for doing a video on parsva dhanurasana -- it's much overlooked :) A question: when you're lifting your lower body, are you more using the front of your legs to push against your arms, or are you more using your hamstrings and glutes to lift from the back leg? I find parsva + full dhanurasana more tiring than urdhva dhanurasana so just curious how I should engage my legs to balance the work load. Thank you again!

...their are a variety of backbends (traditional and ones using the wall). If you find the ones that work for you it can facilitate your hip opening which makes a lot of other stuff fall into place
