I can definitely vouch for accuracy and reliability of the external tial 44mm wastegate , we wasted about two weeks of tuning trying to fix a boost creep problem with a knock off 46 mm wastegate with no luck until I chucked it in the garbage and put on one of the tial 44mm!

Very informative... Would also be nice to go into the added tuneability of being able to switch out springs on both external and aftermarket iwg actuators for different boost applications/goals.... Maybe a wastegate discussion part 2 can talk about that and connecting up the boost control solinoid for the different combinations/ports mention here 😁

Thanks much and agree 100%. Wastegate spring swap and boost solenoid plumbing detailed vid is a great idea. Maybe even a 3rd with ecu setup and functionality :P

@@BrewedMotorsports Have you dealt with any vacuum operated actuators yet? Think it is more a euro thing but is much safer in terms of failure they dont overboost as they are a normally open type actuator.

Good explanation of different types. Im looking to make a 350 whp from my sr20det. What are you recommending for consistency?

@@cxlumpy ooh 350hp sr is the perfect example of either internal or external wastegate would get the job done well BUT if you want any headroom for more power down the road using an external Tial MVR would be recommended. We do run higher power internal wastegates on some applications but imo with the room available on the SR20 going external wastegate when you upgrade turbo/manifold is ideal.
Remember Ageia PhysX before Nvidia bought them?
