Unfortunately, today a dictatorship in Africa treats Africans with a profound contempt. Slavery may have ended. But the principles that have determined slavery remain.

TRIP DEZE Sub-Saharan Africa wasn't colonized until 19th century. There were no white people there, except occasional travelers and such.

+Man Crush I was hesitating to answer to such a comment... but you cannot remain confortable after saying what you just said. You are implaying that since the peoplw selling the africans were africans, that's our fault to what happened to all of us for 4 centuries!!! The argument you are giving is justifying for exemple human and prostitutes trade: since they themselves in their country sell their people, they get what they got... Please... always defending the opresor and never defending the victim.

I listened and know that the transatlantic slave trade was a legal practice many years ago. I think that the USA banned slavery after Britain did. Britain and the Royal Navy of Britain helped enforce a ban on transatlantic slavery. I think that the United Nations is an organisation which does not include the whole world. Some countries, or tribes have not signed up to the United Nations at all. Here in Britain we are lucky because of The British Government's great record on Human Rights. No Slavery is of course one of the basic human rights. I think I do understand and think that Ban Ki Moon is a powerful leader of The United Nations, which is nearly, most of the planet. Am I right?
