I live in Colombia. A few things you need to know. 1. No dar papaya = do not put yourself in a position to be taken advantage of. Use common sense and if you have experience traveling you will be fine. 2. If you want black women go to the coast. If you want cinnamon color go to Cali. If you want white go to Medellin. 3. Dress code. Do not wear shorts and, especially no slides/flip flops in public. Flip flops are for the home only. Wear pants and a t-shirt with athletic shoes and you will be fine. It is ok to wear shorts on the coast. 4. Spanish will be important. If you come to Colombia and speak little to no Spanish, your options are severely limited. These women will get tired of dealing with a translator after a while. If you want to be with an authentic women, you will need to be able to converse, at least reasonably, in Spanish for her to want to invest in you. If you want to live here, you will be expected to work on your Spanish and be constantly improving. I hope this helps.

You should make an effort to blend in at least in the way you dress, simply from a respect issue. If you come and dress like an American, you set yourself up to be a target.
