In retrospect, the James and Grayson dynamic makes me so uncomfortable because it plays into the homophobic stereotype of “the predatory gay man”. There’s no way that James was unaware of this stereotype, so I don’t know why he and Grayson thought those jokes would be a good idea 😕

I think you're kinda missing the part where James Charles IS a predatory gay man. It is pretty well documented now that his whole MO is pursuing young straight boys without consent - EXACTLY what was going on in these videos, despite him insisting "haha its funnnyyyyyy you guysssss!". He was basically laying a foundation to continue getting away with this type of behaviour, because his fans were being conditioned to think it was ok. I don't know anything about the other guy but if he has never spoken about it again, doesn't indicate this was something he was comfortable with or proud of.

And then I clicked so hard I literally just broke a nail. This background is gorgeous - it looks like a lovely, peaceful place! Hannah, I hope that's the place you're at literally and metaphorically in your life. And yes, the James/Grayson thing creeped me out a lot.
