Former Archie writers Karl Bollers and Dan Slott have made successful careers after Archie Sonic and Penders is butthurt that he isn't getting no success at all. Dan Slott works for Marvel comics and the head writer for Spider Man. And Karl Bollers is chief editor at Valiant comics. Ian Flynn is even more successful than Penders as Flynn is writing Sonic Frontiers, wrote several Sonic Boom episodes and as head writer for IDW Sonic. Hope Flynn does get involved in the Sonic Cinematic Universe as well.

Ironically, outside of Sonic, Penders made exactly ONE original comic book series. I don’t remember its name, but if I remember well it was published in the 90s by Image comics, there was an absurd crossover between Sonic and ALL Image comics most popular characters (99% of them have no real role in the story outside a forced cameo) that only served to push kids to read his original comic and lasted only TWO numbers. It might have been the reason behind his obsession with the Sonic franchise because Archie, giving him free reign to do what he wanted to do with Knuckles, basically allowed him to tell the stories nobody else wanted to publish.

While there are similarities between the Dark Legion and the Dark Brotherhood, everything Brotherhood was built on was from prior lore in the Sonic games. Its not that Penders' work was ripped off, it was that it was so unoriginal that anyone could've made it with the pre established lore.

Keep in mind that Penders is the type of person who believe colouring Knuckles green makes it his own original character. He should have no problem accepting that the Dark Brotherhood, Shade and Ix are NOT his characters.

Wanted to clarify something. I was the project lead on speed demon and nobody on the project was a "nazi". We had a member of the team that was a Trump supporter and followed a few right leaning accounts. Twitter did what Twitter does had made a mountain out of a molehill. Basically, everything about Ken Penders that was touched on in this video, in combination with the Chris Chan situation, makes me kind of glad I'm not too involved in the Sonic fandom anymore. Both of them had some pretty twisted histories of their own, and the effects of them really tarnished their reputations, which ultimately led to their downfalls in addition to having "temper tantrums" over things that really make you wonder what is going on. And, to put it on the spot, Ken Penders basically created Sonic OCs before Chris Chan did, and it was already on its way to unimaginable heights from day one.

@@Dcfan200 The Sonic franchise has been a Shonen series from 1992-2009 read the Japanese manuals for the classic series they're jammed packed with stories that would run in a Shonen magazine at the time and in with the sillier westernized stories CD, 2 and 3 still have that feel to them also play the adventure series in Japanese with the script retranslation mod the stories especially SA2 hit differently and even leaves questions about who and what Sonic is.

Ken should consider himself lucky that the people who replaced him are way more mature than him. Like with the Scourge comic there's probably a legal argument to be made that he doesn't own that design of the character and he's lucky that whoever would own it be that Tracey Yardley or Spaziante give so little of a shit about him that they don't want to sue him. I loved those comics which I started collecting in 1993 and the Satam cartoon. So getting to see why lenders is hated is interesting as I used to see his name in the comics. I stopped collecting shu of issue 200. The early books were a bit silly but then the comics got awesome with the storyline. Characters dying, missing ect. Loved every moment
