When the guy said he worried about what would happen to her later really hit home for me. I was in an abusive marriage, and when anyone else would get involved, it meant a worse beating for me later. That’s a BIG reason why too many women stay in abusive relationships without telling anyone. I called the cops on my husband ONCE when he strangled me so bad the blood vessels in both of my eyes burst and I ended up with 2 black eyes. I was terrified that he was going to kill me. If the boyfriend is abusing his own girlfriend, who's to say he won't attack me, should I intervene. So I wouldn't dare to do anything more than just say a few words to him and ask him to stop.
