Another great one Kyle! I-35 is really a demarcation line in Texas. Those of us who live far west of that line feel that we are used for our natural resources and not really acknowledged for our contributions (aka oil) to the state. I don't take a position on that, but it is a significant dividing line in Texas. Thanks again!

I live in E.Texas and don’t know anyone that thinks that way about W.Texas. Personally I’d rather live in the Hill Country (lived there in my younger years) or further west where there’s more open space, that feels more like the “real” Texas to me.

Oh, my friend, I can't believe you had the patience to hit the New Braunfels Buc Ee's. It's in a horrible location imo, almost impossible to leave that parking lot with the way it's set up. I always skip that one and hit the Temple location when I'm going that way. Great video! I really do love San Antonio a lot, and I-35 can be a very fun rush when it's actually moving.

@@InterstateKyle Texas is set to undergo a major series of highway expansions in the next few years, but this will only worsen traffic congestion. The widened freeways look nice, but they will not reduce traffic congestion. We are headed for climate disaster instead.

Awesome stuff - Texan freeway infrastructure is very impressive as always. What really blew my mind was the size of the Buc-ee's at the end though. Thats one HUGE highway rest stop - we don't have anything remotely like it here in Australia lol

New Braunfels, TX sure is an amazing metropolitan statistical satellite city of San Antonio and the seat of Comal County, TX. You're luck to eat in Buc-ee's for the first time in New Braunfels, TX. I hope to see I-35 in Austin, TX, the capital of the lone star state, soon. There are also tolled freeways in there too.

Good series from the San Antonio area! Haven't been back there since 1985 and a visit to the Alamo and the River Walk. What was the gas price at that Buc-ees? Bring on Austin, and get to the D/FW area!

...and if memory serves ne correctly, the other two sides of this triangle are Interstate 10 from San Antonio to Houston and Interstate 45 from DFW to Houston. Now, for Austin, a few people seem to have varying ideas for where I-35 runs through Austin. For me, it starts in Buda at FM 2001 and ends at the north end of Georgetown at TX Toll Hwy 130.... ....but that's just my opinion, even if it is coming from this native Austinite.

With this video, I finally say goodbye to I-10 which we were driving since leaving CA. It was a great journey on you. But the show must go on as it's now time to check out Austin, & the Dallas/Forth Worth Metro. PS, CBS Sunday Morning did an interesting story on Buc-ee's earlier this year- you can even find the clip here on TY. Too bad they're currently not on the West Coast as we need another trucker friendly store to be a rival against Love's.

@@InterstateKyle According to my research, it's true. It's part of the "family friendly" culture they're trying to cultivate. Ergo, no 18-wheelers are allowed on the lot...at all. They even walk the truckers out.

@@michaelsharp3615 San Antonio already has SA International Airport and Austin has Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. I highly doubt that you'll see one built between two large cities like that.

It's actually one big strip city from San Antonio north to about Waco. Having lived in Bell, Lampasas, Coryell and McLennan counties the vast majority of my life, the area has really transformed from a largely rural area in the 60s to a largely urban area today.

I 35 goes from Mexican border to Canadian Border

Not quite. It ends in Duluth, MN, and you would need to follow MN 61 to get to the Canadian border.

Ummm.. it starts at the Mexican border in Laredo, Texas and ends in Duluth, Minnesota, which is on the western edge of Lake Superior. You still have to drive about 160 miles to get to the Canadian border from the northern end of I-35.
