I drove that twice a day for years when I lived in Grants Pass and worked in Medford. The place at 3:04 in the video is where a truck in front of me lost a wheel (the whole wheel, not just the tire) which flew across the freeway, narrowly missing my car, and smashing through the blackberry bushes on the right. That was a memorable 8 or 10 seconds !!!

Hoo boy, where did you find that sign that says "Exit 48, Rouge (sic) River." Not put up by ODOT, I hope!

1:18 If you have time, take that exit for a beautiful drive through cattle and wine country. Oh yeah... maybe a few hemp/marijuana operations. It's beautiful and worth the extra time. 2:26 Largest rest area in So. Oregon with full hook-up camps, it's along side the Rogue River and has a playground for kids. 3:10 Beautiful small town with roads leading up into some amazing camping/hiking areas in the hills/mountains above and just outside the City of Rogue River. 4:50 Stopped to tape just entering GP. Come anytime from May through Labor day to ride the Jet boats and visit our small town.... might want to wait until after COVID.

This is so ironic. You shot this on my birthday and I was dating a girl who lived in Grants Pass for a few years with her ex-husband. I was with her that day. The day you released this was the day we broke up.

I too dated a girl from Grants Pass while living in Medford.

Always wondered how Grants Pass got its name. It's not near a mountain pass or anything.

Okay Kyle, I will give 100% on this one! Thanks for the continued ride on into Oregon! Yes, you would have had a long ride to that point the day you made this! 2 thumbs up from Iowa! Always enjoy your travel vids! I'm behind you and yours 110%! You are doing fine! Stay encouraged Kyle! Your supporter from the Heartland. Mark.

Mark Smith Thank you Mark! Next video we will be heading back to Chicago, and the next video I'm feeling is going to be a huge hit! And I always appreciate you always having my back! :)

InterstateKyle Gladly! I intend to remain a source of encouragement for you! Where I live, I'm just about 250 miles over to Chicago. I'm just south of Interstate 80 about 30 miles. And only about 40 miles straight west of the Mighty Mississippi River. So safe travels out to the American Heartland whenever travel brings you out this way! Mark.

Hope you have a chance to drive US 199 sometime, it’s one of the most amazing stretches of highway in the northwest 🙃

Seems like you were weaving a bit in your lane, wind? Was on that stretch of I-5 last year when I went from Bend to Brookings.
