Bella's hind legs became paralysed in March 2019 due to intervertebral disc disease. We have been blessed to help many paralysed pets to walk again over the last few years using acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, laser therapy, veterinary chiropractic and medications.
Disc disease can be a very frustrating condition for owner, pet and therapist alike as there is no set time frame of when the pet might start to walk again. The first 6 weeks following paralysis or hind leg weakness is the most crucial time to start neurological rehabilitation as the spinal cord has the ability to regenerate. Some will take steps by themselves in a few weeks and others only after many months and sometimes even years. However, in our experience the majority will walk again so staying positive is a very important aspect of the therapy. Check out the video of Bella's progress. Thank you very much to Justin Serrao for the use of his song “Walk Away”.

My dog has Ivdd and is probably a grade 4 because we know she can still feel pain, what is the cost to do physical rehabilitation and lazer etc? And do a lot of vets offer this?

Help I'm so afraid my girl is going to stay like this. I can't afford surgery she is at grade 2. For about a week. She can walk but it looks so bad and I'm afraid she will fall and injure herself more. How long do I let her rest when should I start PT like water exercise. I'm afraid if she doesn't do enough walking she will lose muscle and not walk.
