Can’t wait to see the lads back at it again a couple of weeks time with pre season training. Just need plenty of proven players at this level through the door between now and the Sheffield United pre season game. Priorities; replace McGoldrick, Davies and Roberts, sign about 5-7 players who played at Rotherham United under Paul Warne, also promotion winners and have a playing squad of about 30-35 players.

Agreed. A workmate who is a Rotherham season ticket holder said last week that Wes Harding is one of their best prospects and highly rated at this level, Richard Wood might be knocking on a bit but always steady, absolutely gutted Roberts going more so than Didsy as he could play several positions but cannot blame him. Jordan Hugill would be a decent bet as a target man, only snag he may not score enough goals though. We need more goals from midfield this season no question.

Yeah we're not going to get him he's Championship standard mate. Also we don't have the money to sign him and why would he take the lateral switch instead of progressing his career. I think we need to be realistic this window and accept that any Championship standard players will come in for free either on loan or don't have a contract and the best of League One will most likely go up but we may be able to poach a few. Much rather see us going for some very good League Two or National League players or someone like Alfie May who is at a mid table side but is consistent throughout the season.

Agreed. He was transfer listed at the end of last season, transfer fee?,if you look at his career before Peterborough he scored 24 goals in 42 games for Bristol Rovers. Decent at this level, not sure about being Championship quality, doubt we have the time to give non league players time to adjust to a higher standard. Midfield players also need to get their shooting boots on. Bird got one goal last season, Bryson scored more goals in 13/14 season on his own.

@@topcat4759 Billy Sharp doesn’t fit the age or player profile Warne wants in his squad, Derby are a big fish, they effectively have their pick of players at league one level, but it’s a lot more than just being a decent player for Warne, he’s got his eye on the Championship and staying there without any relegation fears, he eluded to it in this interview and many last season, it’s the person as well as the career they’ve had and could have in the future. If you look back at his time at Rotherham he was always very shrewd in the transfer market, got the most out of what was a club with far less resources and pull, and squads with arguably less talent than Derby. This transfer window will be a busy one, at least 8 or 9 coming in before the end of the window, but there could be 1 or two big names leaving for decent money as well, that could definitely leave the club with enough funds to push for the likes of Clarke-Harris, he’s proven at League one level, he guarantees you goals if you play to his strengths.

@neilfound 3506 totally agree with you, just joking about Sharp, would not want an ex Forest and Leeds player in my side anyway no matter how good his record is, and doubt he would come here. Not exactly a fans favourite! Surprised Posh have transfer listed Clarke-Harris, main reason they got anywhere near the play offs. Going to be an interesting couple of weeks. I would let Sibley, Bird or even Knight go if they get decent bids? Only 7 weeks to start of season anyway.

Just hoping we can keep hold of Cashin but not a bad bet, pace not great but scores goals from set pieces and a strong lad. Only other option I can think of is Sean Morrison who is currently at Rotherham. Richard Wood has gone to Doncaster Rovers. Not many other options available other than possible loans.

@@topcat4759Not true at all, lots of great free options out there and unsustainable to look at 30+ aged defenders year upon year. We need to settle on a long term looking pairing for once, instead of the likes of Chester, Davies, Stearman, Jagielka who offer 1 year at most.
