It’s always frustrating watching American interviews where Thomás is trying to answer a question and the interviewer cuts him off before he can finish haha. Like give him time hes mentally translating lol

I wonder is his accent a concise decision at this point? I feel like he could speak with a perfect American accent or a HEAVY French accent if he wanted too yet blends the two.
@jandron943 жыл бұрын
He can speak perfect US English but by forcing at times a typical french accent he maintains a special exotic touch that appeals to native audiences including US journalists. It's like an act. That's kind part of the business plan. He could be from Sweden or the Netherlands but what would that change to his music?

@@davidterrell6857 Indeed, their subtile use of the french language and culture is so unique. Real French singing poets like Serge Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy and the likes.

This guy seems very reflexive and tries to expand about his ideas but the interviewer is just concerned about what he thinks of New York. The real american stereothype.
@davidpullen75966 жыл бұрын
English, of course, is not Thomas' first language, and his ability to express himself with the right words in an "off the cuff" interview is not quite as good as his ability to write romantic and engaging lyrics!!

As an American, I say we aren't all as rude as people from NY or LA. Most are down to earth and normal people who have just grown up in a different culture. Stay Well
@dianach75065 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. It's like he's expecting a man who grew up in Versailles to say that NY is the most impressive city with its urine smell and rats. Just chill... get to know your interviewee.

@@dianach7506 Or saying "ok you are from France and you supposedly have a great cultural heritage but please tell me that you do think the US culture is the greatest of all".

I think this criticism is rly unnecessarily harsh. This is radio FROM NY, listeners FROM NY. Ofc, he's asking questions relative to his audience.
