I once interviewed for a steel shop, I had zero steel experience. I did however have some construction background. He asked me what are your weaknesses and why should I even hire you with no experience in this field. My response was that even though I had no experience I was a quick learner and could take coaching, what I will not bring with me is 20 years of bad habits. I can learn to do things the way you want them. Without hesitation he offered me the position.

I don't think he directed the term 'fixable' towards those who are introverts. Rather, I think what he is trying to say that in terms of their social skills, that is what can be deemed as fixable. Maybe fixable was too straightforward and made the context seem as if being an introvert is similar to being broken, which is definitely not the case.I think what he meant was that the introverts' social skills can be improved on through time and with some help. They can gain a bit more confidence with talking, sharing ideas, being comfortable with their workmates etc.

i could say I tend to talk too much about nonrelated things if I am trying to get a job as a salesperson or a Politician that would make me highly qualified. Salespeople have to be likable and people tend to like outgoing conversationalists. I am also an introvert

My weakness was that I want things to be completed fast and sometimes I do it myself instead of delegating it to my staff. And this makes me busy on works that my staff can do. I realized the issue, so I attended a course called “effective manager” from Novaliches. Where it tells me about time management and work delegation. and I now make it my skill that I always spend 30 seconds to decide if the work I should do or delegate it to my staff and the result is that I can spend time for setting goals and planning to do it

I like this. What these kind of questions reveal to me is the maturity and the awareness of the employer. Being directly ask about strenghts and weaknesses is quite blunt to be fair, and even though any candidates have to come prepared for their interviews, these are not easy questions to answer. In any circumstances. The questions you mentionned though are much more accessible, and would put me more at ease with the actual idea of working for that particular company, tbh.

I attended an interview training in which the person told me that when you are asked "What's your weakness? " you have to say something that is actually useful for the job that you are being interviewed for. She also gave some examples. Like, "I'm very talkative". I was asked this question in the interview for my first job and I gave that readymade answer although I was not at all talkative. Then the interviewer asked "How's that a weakness". I was not prepared for that question but somehow I managed by saying "Sometimes if u talk too much people might get annoyed". Anyway, I got hired although I quit that job in less than 2 years.

Prioritising used to be a weakness for me. Having an attention to detail, I would always spend time on smaller, less important things. As a fresh graduate out of the university i had some many ideas in my mind to improve the production process. But as I worked for a year in a company, i realized, change can't happen all of a sudden. I tend to need more time to get familiarized myself with new surroundings and tend to be reserved around new people. Okay, the first one about being shy/introvert is contradictory because that is exactly a personality characteristic. An introvert will always be an introvert, as it is one of the Big Five traits. True, shyness is a bit more malleable but also not the best answer. I would focus on a specific pattern of behavior you have observed in yourself, as behaviors can be changed more easily than personality traits. So, instead of shy/introverted, say, "It usually takes some time for me to relax around people I have just met, especially when there is a large group of people I hardly know." (FYI, introverts are not necessarily bad at behaving in an extroverted way, but they require more energy to do so and 'recharge' by being alone. There are also considerable strengths that introverts have, such as being able to have deeper more meaningful conversations in one-on-one settings.)

1. When am excited to go I get up early, but once the work place doesn't excite me I start to come to work late. I dont mind staying overtime to cover for the time I missed. 2. Well, over the span of my career, I've had moments when I had to take care of several tasks at once. It became a bit difficult for me to manage all of them properly and prioritize the tasks in a meaningful way. I thought of myself to be an organized person, but this multitasking environment put me on a real test and I struggled at times. To overcome this, I tried several methods such as using memos, planners or schedulers that are out in the market such as the Franklin planner, and attended many workshops and seminars that dealt with this matter. Now I've settled with one tool that I found best fit for me. And I've been using this tool for almost 5 years now. It has helped me improve on my weakness in many ways, but I feel there's still room for improvement, and if this job requires multitasking ability, I'm more than willing to devote my time and energy to learn and develop any skills or methods that will help me get the job done.

I find sincerity and confidence to work well also just answer the questions honestly and don’t talk for to long trying to build yourself up . How you portray yourself , speak and the demeanor in your face helps a lot .

Perfectionism is a weakness if it means you never finish anything. Realising that actually you just need to ship something out as its lowest most viable product, even if you're not 100% happy with it, does show self-awareness and the ability to compromise and work on a solution to the problem.

The introverted part was accurate, I also am a bit slow on the learning. I need to be told like 3 times to get it settled into my brain, and I need to write/types notes alot. I also get anxious easily so I tend to ask alot of questions. I try not to over panic and overload the person I'm talking to. I prioritize asking questions that seem reasonable instead of my irrational anxiety talking to them. I get therapy to help with that, and I try to see what I have control over and not. Throughout my customer service years, I've learned to come out more and settle situations on my own. Its still hard when I'm confronted with a difficult customer, but if I know its out of my control or not in my place, I contact the manager right away.

I want to be completely honest with my potential new employer. I know for a fact that my greatest weakness is my communication skills with my supervisors. At times, I generally tend to not share my concerns and/or observations with my boss and develop a plan of action entirely on my own. This is something I learned in the Military to safeguard myself from the scorn of my Commanding Officer. I might even tell myself that this problem is too small to bring to his attention. I have had success with this approach, however, there have been occasions where it came back to bite me. I've been working on how to accept the risk of ridicule and embarrassment by sharing my concerns as a problem is developing, and seek input as to a "Best Practice".

My weaknesses is lack of organizing ability, I find it difficult to organize my ideas and know which ones to do first and that is why I joined an influencer (Dan Lok) and other influencers online to learn from them and work on myself.

Good one! I have a similar problem. What helped me, because I'm good at presenting stuff, is creating a presentation containing most of my ideas. I can organize them more easily now and can listen to myself talking about them. This way I at least see which ones sound better than the others!

I have ADHD. Sometimes when I get idea I tend to work on it wery fast in my mind, it then that I get tangled up, fidgeting, walking around in circles. Also I get super energised, and afterwards get to "fluf" moment. I do have coping mechanism. Sometimes they are just push-ups, sometimes Grant Cardones 10x workout, martial art practicing or plain meditation. No, I am not on medication, my type of ADHD doesn't require medication. I am always full of ideas and seeking to go forward, add more value to marketplace, add more value to people, add more value to company. Its just that I get tangled in my mind so i need to be coached to do get those ideas out of my head and putt them into perspective and work on them. Without that I might procrastinate. Cause of ADHD I want to do everything and be everything by myself. My weaknes is also sometimes my strenght because of creative side of ADHD. Is this good answer to that question?

I get the idea but it needs to be more polished. Try not to mention ADHD. Don't mention medication. Don't mention you don't need medication. While it is illegal to discriminate based on something like that, that's not really enforceable. Even if you took a company to court you would have to have evidence that they discriminated against you on that specific idea. And they can just say they thought the person they hired would be a better fit... Talk about your creativity and your enthusiasm and then talk about your issues with getting your ideas to the finish line. You sound young that is not an unforgivable sin. But this is the kind of weakness that needs to be short term. Talk about how you have started to prioritize and act with intention. Mention setting short term goals within the larger goal to give you checkpoints to reference and look forward to. ask for advice. You DAMN sure should mention martial arts especially if the interviewer is in shape. Good luck

My greatest weakness since my childhood is I was a little introvert, I was afraid to talk to people or speaking on stage but since last three years I am working hard to overcome my weakness. In order to do so I joined some college clubs and whenever I got the chance to be ask some question from the person on stage I just force myself and I ask, that have given me a lot of confidence. Also, I gave some seminars also on stage during college to overcome my stage fear + in order to be more with people, currently I am reading a book, How to win friends and influence people, and the techniques mentioned in it really helps me a lot. Even, I am planning to join Toast Masters International, to overcome my stage fear.
