just saw a little film with him from round 2004 when he looked really unwell. so happy to see him doing much better and more like a person. New set of teeth as well. Hloly shit - what a legend in his own time. respect!

2004? Should have seen him in 89/90😂. Had a similar life to Shaun. Long heroin addiction, meth etc but got clean from that just over a year ago. Shaun had transplants in his stomach for naltrexone the loon. Only need to swallow a tablet behind your tongue but obviously couldn’t trust himself. I was on those and used to not bother. Instant rattle and nowt to take it away. Yeah I’m 48 and started at 13 with resin, then acid and so on. Mares grandma had boxes of jelly’s and Mogadon the Nitrazepam. All sorts. We would smash them every night. Getting off heroin is fucking hard. I just grew out of it 13 years back as quality was gash and dealers took the piss. Waiting hours. Fuck that. Lining those scumbag pockets. But was on a meth script on and off, more on than not from 94 until May last year I did a ten day detox in Manchester. Spent queens celebrations sectioned off in a room from rest of lads and couldn’t move apart from loo. My last day of meth the day of the Monaco rally and champions league final night before when Madrid beat the dippers I got diagnosed with Covid. If was horrible as I’ve end stage COPD so knocked my breathing for 6. Anyway still here and awaiting a lung transplant.

Fucking great band , the rhythm section provided a grooviness. His lyrics were mad but that’s Shaun. Bummed my favourite. So Raw. 24 Hour party people plastic face carnt smile so white out was a cracking album with gems like Kuff Damm, Tart Tart, Russell and 24 hour party people. Freaky dancing / the egg is one my favourite tracks but is it on any album from the 80’s-90? Pills and Thrills was a top album but just a tad overproduced by the legendary Oakenfold in my humble opinion. Production on earlier two by John Cale then Martin Hannett RIP. A totally different even groovier sound but some of the rawness left. An amazingly tight band who were better than many give them credit for, who all live to tell the tale apart sadly from Shaun’s brother Paul RIP. SWR. Legend.
