Little known fact: This interview was filmed in Sting's brothers bar in Tynemouth. I walked past it on a visit to Northumberland in 1990 and his brother was in the place fixing it up.

"In many ways I think they [rituals] are inadequate for what we need, and I think they need to be re-assessed, maybe revamped, or linked closer to real symbols of continuity, like the ocean, like the rivers, like the earth. Y'know, old religions were about that, based in existence, things you can touch, and then at a certain point in history religion became about a God who was outside of existence, outside of reality, existing beyond the world. I think as soon as they did that then we could set about destroying it, because "If God isn't in the tree, then we just chop the tree down", "If God's not in the river, then we can pollute the river", "If God's not in the sea, then we pollute the sea". It's almost as if we're trying to find God by destroying the world, and I think that's crazy, and wrong." this is so fucking true

I'm for the moment multi religions. My arrière grand ma was jewish that made believe to all body she's a muslim. She grew up her children in islam and even made ramadan. She thought me all the secrétaire prayers of the kabbale. But prayers in the love of god. Well, I was the only one she taught that 'cause she used to love really very much but used to tell me we're muslims. I shouldn't teach you that until the day of her death. She asked us to put her in a jewish cimetière. So she finally always been hebrew. But all body are still muslim and nobody became jewish. Except me that is both and now I have other new plans about my faith.
