In this video I share with you current financial market conditions, since they are relevant to when Aptera Motors does their IPO.
I also share with you an interview I conducted with Peter Greenberg, an Aptera Roadster reservation holder, Aptera Motors Ambassador, and an ‘all in’ investor in Aptera Motors. Peter shares his thoughts about the Roadster, Aptera Managment, Aptera’s right to repair philosophy, and so much more. I enjoyed meeting Peter and hope you enjoy the interview. - Vlog 20

It seems poetic that some of the profits from a solar business have been reinvested in Aptera. Also, thanks for the reminder to think beyond the fixed downside of investing in a startup.

The official motor output was reduced (No longer 150 watt total.) in conjunction with the drop in 0-60 times.
@deanmcmanis9398
@deanmcmanis9398 Жыл бұрын
One point that came out in a recent interview was that Elaphe (who makes the Aptera's motors) redesigned their standard 50kW motors specifically for Aptera because their original design was specifically engineered for high torque and an operating speed range and power delivery that worked best with heavy vehicles, as all other EVs (especially ones with longer range capability) have the additional weight to carry. So the in-wheel motors were redesigned for the Aptera's lighter weight, and optimized for maximum efficiency and range. Also there might have been the consideration of the Launch Edition having AWD, and yet still needing to be able to get 400 miles of range. There are more solar cells, the battery pack is slightly larger, and other improvements were made to attain that goal. There was a small reduction in power, 0-60, and maximum speed, but even though the power and performance is potentially a bit down from earlier specs, the LE Aptera will still be a VERY quick EV.

[If a company doesn't improve a vehicle when they find a way to, why wouldn't they?] This has nothing to do with prematurely advertising false information. It used to be unsubstantiated claims, but when they change a claim, then one has to be false. They have made numerous alterations to claims, already. Rich: When Aptera IPOs, what do you the the price per share will be?
@Rich1Rodriguez
@Rich1Rodriguez Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching My Aptera Journey video. This is a difficult question to answer and depends on numerous factors. Market timing is one factor. A receptive market generally prices stocks higher and the inverse is also true. This is why I usually open my videos with a market summary and analysis section. In general, I would expect initial market (set by the investment bank book runners) to be at a premium over the last privately offered shares. current shares are offered at $10.50 so I would expect something like a 20% initial pricing prior to opening the book. Once the investment banker opens their books for initial orders (before the stocks hit the market) and start to take preliminary orders, the investment banker will start to get a sense of what the market price might be. Based on that, the investment banker will adjust their opening price, higher or lower than when they started to do the initial book running. Then, once the shares start trading on the market floor it’s up to how receptive the shares actually are in the marketplace. I recall a few years ago I was doing a bond issuance, and there was relevant news from Europe that impacted the pricing of our (unrelated) bonds in New York. So you can see how nuanced this process is and the many variables. My advice best advice to Aptera Motors would be to hire a good investment banking firm with a good book of potential clients for distribution of IPO shares (e.g. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Citi, Credit Suisse, RBC Capital Markets, BNP Paribas). That should garner the highest price. Thank you for a great question. Do take care, and Charge on!

As LightYear and Sono have also discovered, funding for innovative startups during a constrained Capital Market also requires some innovative funding ideas. Aptera's design philosophy and appearance has an instant attention-getting nature about it. A well planned national tour of Gamma may be well worth the expense to Aptera to generate the interest of potential investors.

I have invested in Aptera myself. I am slowly accumulating my savings to buy the Aptera. I am not touching my retirement savings as that is for a different purpose. I convinced my Dad to put in a solar water heater system in over 50 years ago. It failed after a period of time at almost the length of time that I had calculated would be breakeven in costs. I purchased an early Toyota Prius hybrid. Not a plug-in back then. I had a problem develop as a mouse had gotten into the car, and chewed through the high voltage line right in one of the areas that was almost impossible to get at without tearing the car apart. This caused the car to just stop when hitting a bump in a very random way. This soured me a bit on electric cars. I am very hyped about the Aptera as so much is accessible. I hope they make all the wires easily accessible when it needs to be repaired. I understand safety, but this is one of the major issues as things like mice are attracted to high voltage lines. If the lines are accessible and this happens, it is a straightforward repair.

By my rough calculations, it looks like they are selling shares for this round to the public in such a way that it values Aptera at about $750,000,000. That's almost unicorn prices. That's crazy for a car company that hasn't produced a single production car yet. They don't even have a factory to produce the car.

Thank you for viewing My Aptera Journey video. I have not done a recent valuation… I like audited numbers, and the 2022 audit has not, yet been released. It would not seem to me at all unusual for a company with some $1.4 billion in preorders to be valued at some multiple of sales…. So unicorn, looks certainly feasible to me. Change on.

@@Rich1Rodriguez I'm just going by the share price they are offering and the number of shares outstanding. But the E-vehicle manufacturer bubble has burst. Just look at where Rivian is right now: they can't ramp production, parts prices are going through the roof, recalls... Pre-orders don't mean to much until a company has the ability to deliver product. Right now they just think they can deliver a $30k car. My carbon fiber bike costs $10k, with no motor, no battery, no electronics...

Thanks Rich for the interview. It was nice to learn about Peter's background, as he has an impressive history of supporting renewable energy industries. I do hope that this new funding approach meets it's ambitious goals and helps kickstart Aptera's production. I was surprised to see many out of CA people on the Accelerate Aptera list so far, considering that everyone is required to pick up their LE Aptera from Carlsbad, CA. I am hoping that the market recovers by the time that the first production Apterae come out, and that Aptera holds off on their IPO until that time.

@@Rich1Rodriguez [Thank you for viewing My Aptera Journey video.] You're welcome. [I watched a Monroe Live video where he unboxed a large piece from CPC then a few weeks later I saw Aptera announce adoption of CPC.] So you put two and two together and got it wrong. I saw both in the same order and timeframe and made no such assumption. [Did their engineers talk?] It didn't matter. There was at least a year before the CPC announcement that Anuj (hope I spelt it right) had found them. Sandy was sent the parts months later. [I don’t know that precisely.] You don't need to know if you stick to facts you are told and not joining the dots in your head from two sources that don't actually say who found CPC. [I know Sandy Monroe is an engineer and investor in Aptera Motors, and Monroe consults to Aptera Motors.] A third, yet still irrelevant point. [So you could say there (contract) engineer spoke to CPC.] You named Sandy; Steve Fambro names Anuj(?) - even gives his last name. So you can't be right if you name Sandy. It's black and white - keep lying shades of grey out of it. [However, to assert someone is lying is a bold statement.] I make sure I am dead right when I do. Someone is lying - you or Steve F. I don't care who, because Steve and his cohort Chris have told plenty in the past, as has your senile mate Bruce baby. Now you have joined them. [Do you have any evidence for such assertions?] It took me half an hour to find this clip, so I hope you appreciate my effort. Video's come at about 5 a day, and it has been about 100 (rough calculation) since this one. I wasn't even sure how far back I would have to search. Trust me next time; I am completely reliable. The evidence is found here: Part 2 , Of Aptera's Steve Fambro Talks About Their Future and what's coming next ! From before 7:55 to after 8:10 should prove you lie. or Steve is trying to hide Sandy from the picture. [Charge on!] Like your ex-wife did? More of a charge away, I would think.
