Seeing Cael choke up is such a surreal experience. That man is the greatest champion of all time. Seeing him disappointed and hurting makes me feel so emphatic for him, and I just want to go back a decade and give him a hug. He’s one of my greatest inspirations, and I was rooting for him so hard during this comeback

Cael is awesome but he is not the best US wrestler of all time. John Smith is definately the best US wrestler he has 2 NCAA titles , 2 Olympic Gold Medals , and 4 World Championships. Cael never won a world Championship he got Silver (2nd place) and than 5th place. Cael is the best College Wrestler of all time but not the best international US wrestler.

Incredible , those athletes are really different breed of people , born to win , losing is a true tragedy , ive watched nick simmons after his loss for bronze and now cael , both so tough guys yet so emotional and devastated after really good performances , wish i had half of their heart and desire to succed.

The man was overcome with emotions. One of his first recruits when he began his coaching career at Iowa State, Jake Varner, had just won his first world medal. I’d like to think he was just expressing how genuinely proud he was for his fellow team mate and brother on the wrestling mat. There is a reason Varner now coaches at Penn State with him. It’s all love between them.
