She's so intelligent and learned so much from the bad experience with Atlantic. Getting a record deal on her terms and having this amount of control over her career is going to pay off in so many ways moving forward. It's probably a blessing in disguise that it didn't work out with Atlantic.

You really captured her realness in these two interviews. She seems to be able to drop the need to be defensive about her private life with you from other interviews I've heard her do. I hope you get the chance to interview her again a third time now she has significantly gained stardom. Something tells me she still would say that even though she's reached the top, it's still not what she expected. Though she should be much more financially better off! I hope she stays sober and focused and she gets to do other things she loves to do after the dust settles. Another great interview, thanks!

hey, so i'm watching this (more like listening as podcast) while working lol and rarely leave comments, but: first, the interviewer is great and really perfectly allows chappell to share in a safe space and asks additional questions when they really are needed; second, at around 15:13 when she talks about how she didn't feel anything when she got to that 'big' point in her career when she opened for olivia rodrigo. and this is september 2023, about 10 days BEFORE her album even droppped. i really wonder how she feels now, because that wasn't even a big moment and it's truly so incredible to watch this almost a year later, which is really not that long, but already so many BIGGER things happened to her, and she really took off in spring '24, and now she's at such peak that she has album tracks competing with huge hits on the charts....
