Mr. Stanley’s story is one that I did not know (Elvis passed when I was young), and my martial path was quite different. That said, thank you, Mr. Stanley for taking the time to be graciously interviewed and to tell your story from the perspective you have earned. The Zen of martial arts is what keeps ME going.

Thank you for this excellent interview of Mr. David Stanley! I truly enjoyed hearing about his relationship with Elvis Presley, as his step brother, as well as his years as a bodyguard for him on his tours and so forth. I am glad that he is candid and extremely honest about Elvis Presley as a person, rather than trying to sweep the negative aspects of his life under the rug, as many other family members, of celebrities tend to do. I will definitely watch his film, on Elvis Presley as his one of his bodyguards, along with master Ed Parker. I really liked how he innocently had put a sticker of Kenpo Karate's crest, on one of Elvis' black guitars, of which Elvis really ended up liking ☺. It is good to see that he he is still a humble, down to earth, motivational speaker, despite his Parkinson's disease, also that he is still training to maintain his mental and physical health. Thank you for bringing us such an excellent interview Sensei Dan, I truly enjoyed it. Looking forward to your next video segment as always. Osu! 👍 ☺ ✌

Dave, I send this message to you from what I would like to call a friend. I met you at a Freddy Gage Crusade in Asheboro, NC. I head the good fortune to have owned a health club that the members of that event were able to use during that event. You and I got to spend some time with you plus visiting you at other locations in NC while you were there. I don’t imagine you remember myself and three of my friends coming by your house when we were attending a powerlifting contest in Dallas. May things have happened during the passing years, especially my oldest son, Aaron, has become a pastor in Wilmington, NC. I think of the time spent talking to you and the real joy it gave me. Thank you.

Definitely do some good research. Talk to the instructor, learn their background, make sure they are participating in class (and not just assigning other students to teach). Avoid schools that have 200 students, and make sure there is decent contact made during techniques and lots of sparring. There are a lot of great Kenpo schools out there but unfortunately a lot of bad ones too. Try to watch a class or two if you can and then if they offer any trial classes, give them a try :)

I just met Mr. Norton this year. He's a fantastic martial artist, a real professional (he still does stunt/fight choreography for big budget movies), a class act and at 70, a great example of fitness for martial artists at any age.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. We've been doing this channel for about 8 months and we're really happy with the growth (it was formally a channel with smaller informational bits with my previous instructor, but he moved away and the channel sat dormant for a few years so we decided to revitalize it with new content). We're growing but we just have to be patient. Thank you so much for the encouraging words and your support :)

I actually met David at a neighbors house as a kid and my dad hung out with him all night at the get together or small party my neighbors were having. I thought nothing of it back then or nothing compared to how it boggles my mind now. He signed one of my dads books and surely dealt with my dads questions all night lol. This was back in the early to mid 90s.

What a privilege it was to watch that video. Thank you to Mr Dan and the team for bringing something to us that is more valuable than diamonds. His candidness, couple with his life lessons, makes him so relate able and sincere. You can see his passion for his vision and milking everything that life has to offer. There are so many benefits to learning a Martial Art. The physical, the emotional, and the spiritual development opportunities are limitless. A great question to ask our community.... What is it that you love about your martial art? What do you look to improve on moving forward? What are your challengers?

Elvis use to sneak into Karate tournaments and sit where no one would know who he was so he could enjoy watching. I also heard he was planning at one time to run his own tournament but that's just hear say. Also his wife ran off with Mike Stone her Kenpo Teach who was Parkers guy.

Rick Stanley was on duty the early morning hours Elvis died matter of fact HE filled the last prescription written for “” DILAUDID “ for Elvis (Indications for DILAUDID: Management of pain severe enough to require an opioid analgesic ) *Two Doctors that like expensive Cars ,Jewelry , got him to agree to loan him $250,000 dollars killed Elvis with prescription Class 2 Narcotics. Elvis is the most loved and Talented Entertainer that is still loved and admired and Respected 43 years after he died.

Very good interview. Seems like a nice guy... however, his numbers about drug overdoses are way off! Prescription drug overdose has not been the number one killer since 2011. It’s heroin laced with fentanyl... also a dentist or doctor can only give a three day supply(for acute pain) in the state of Florida as of last year. This is also a federal law that went national as well. Also the FDA now acknowledges that the prescription drugs and heroin/fentanyl epidemic are separate. What he is saying was true over five years ago... as far as actual death, the fentanyl is causing the mass majority of it. The cartels only started doing this in the last few years to save money and up profits! The problem that I have with this is the outdated correlation is hurting legitimate pain patients! They are lumping them in with junkies shooting up fentanyl, laced heroin! This is an epidemic that is not going to go anywhere without securing our borders. 90% of all fentanyl-laced heroin comes across the US border! This is not the first time we had a herion epidemic...The reason why you have this amount of death is because it only takes a little bit of this powder substance to kill an elephant!! There are even finding it laced in cocaine!!
