People like DVG are no longer manufactured. His humility is exemplary. His learning vast. Having produced lasting literature in Kannada, he makes light of it saying "For sixty one years I have been soiling clean paper with pen!". One hopes that present day journalists and men of letters refer to this great person's life and works. This interview is dated 1968. I recall this was the year Dr.DVG completed 80th year. He was presented a Purse of Rs.1 lakh in Town Hall Bengaluru. On the spot, he donated the whole sum to Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs in Bengaluru, without retaining a rupee. Mind you, throughout his life, he was never far removed from poverty.

Just thought of sharing this as an example of his immense knowledge blended with sense of humor 😊. Heard this story somewhere, may not be the exact story . He went to learn the prakaraas of Sanskrit literature under some great scholar but ended up in enjoying the taste of varieties of food prepared by the lady in that house and learning the recipes . He wrote below shloka after that 😀 ನ ವೇದಾಂತೇ ಗಾಢಾ ನಚ ಪರಿಚಿತಂ ಶಬ್ಧ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಂ || ನವಾ ತರ್ಕೇ ವೇದೇ ನಚ ಸರಸತಾ ಕಾವ್ಯ ನಿವಹೇ || ವಯಂ - ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ ಬ್ಯಾಳೀ ಹುಳೀ, ಪಳದ್ಯ, ಕೋಸಂಬ್ರಿ , ತೊವ್ವೀ || ಹಯಗ್ರೀವ, ಆಂಬೋಡಿ, ಕರಿಗಡುಬು, ದಧ್ಯಾನ್ನ ರಸಿಕಾ: 😂😂😂😂😂😂

He is undoubtly "Avatara purusha " of this era. Just reading through Mankutimmana kagga itself gives the gist of his IQ level. As you keep reading it repeatedly, recite it, and digest it, one can compare his IQ level to nothing less than an Ocean. a "Sashthanga dhandavath Pranaamas" to such a great Guru.
