President Kennedy had a true sense of "noblesse oblige".....He wasn't perfect, what man is, but he did care about the common person. Ms. Lincoln sounds like a lovely lady in her own right.

Steverino is kind of right in his reply... Kennedy was indeed quoted as saying "who gives a s*#% about the amount of the minimum wage..." (JFK had a pension for international affairs more than domestic, is the context) Kennedy was more interested in his legacy than anything. Read "The Last 100 Days of JFK" for more. It was more about image. I will agree that he had more sense of what FMHammyJ speaks of than most. Agreed re: Ms. Lincoln.

@@makthnife My family did not like him after the Bay of Pigs. He let our country down and now we are stuck with our enemies on the doorstep. So I don’t feel he was any good at international affairs. Any remaining respect left for him disintegrated when the distasteful details of his personal life was revealed.

This country has not been the same since. I remember the feelings of excitement in young people. I was one of them in junior high when he was killed. Mrs. Lincoln said we “had to pick up the pieces”, and I think we did; but we never got the glue to stick and hold them back together.

I'm almost 60. I was just shy of 3 years old when he was assasinated so I don't remember his time in office. Yet I grew-up Idolizing JFK, he was a hero and a martyr in my home. I've always felt bad for JFK Jr. who was only 1 year older than me. As I've gotten older, it chokes me up to see him at his funeral, especially during the salute. I was crushed when Bobby was assasinated and remembered him well as well as his assasination. It was horrible. Those two murders ruined Teddy- who wasn't nearly as capable a man as JFK or RFK to begin with. The reality of JFK was that he was a naive and overconfident- a Kennedy trait and a common trait among wealthy idealists who go into politics. He was only "loved" by Liberal and Centrist idealists of both parties who were mostly 35 and under. He was hated by huge segments of the Democrat party and Conservative Republicans. He was likely not going to get re-elected in 1964. Thats why he got hit. It was the Left that killed JFK. And Bobby was killed because he was going to be elected in '68 and he would have gotten to the bottom of it all. By the way- I am a Liberterian and a Conservative who got kicked-out of (i.e. made to feel unwlecome) the Democrat Party 30 yeaes ago. JFK was nothing like the Democrats today. He was patriotic, pro-American and sought equality under the law, which is quite different that what we see today from Democrats.

*Helen Casillas* __ Over the school PA _"Now the Russians are coming to get us"_ .Coming from a teacher...🙄. another frightning example how the average American citizen was brainwashed . Nothing has changed, the media still laps up what they're supposed to say about Russia, Although admitedly ,the former Sovjet Union was a lousy dictatorship .....there's two sides to the story ,with Nato stationing nuclear warheads right upclose to Russia's borders, ..... Even since 2010 , after a few years of cordial relations ,Nato sees it fit to have expansionist ambitions eastwards , inviting former Sovjet republics to join her organisation , propping up neo fascist seperatist mercenaries in the Ukraïne ,which is as inseperable a part of Russia as Alaska is considered to be of the U.S. Moving her nuclear warheads from Turkey to Romania, which is the same as if the former Warsaw Pact was stationing warheads in Mexico.....While that same Warsaw Pact folded already three decades ago, Nato only gathers in strength , .....and all the while acting annoyed why a new Kremlin strongman rose up to put a stop to all of this.....

This is beyond touching. Of course the American story is still being written, thankfully, but if you listen to this and don’t see how far we’ve descended culturally and politically, you can’t be paying attention. Factoring out whatever you could say negatively about JFK (which is easy since all Presidents are flawed) and normal social evolution, he embodied, and inspired the best of this country. After his assassination my history professor, the smartest guy in any room, said “We’re probably in the twilight of Western civilization”. Given the last 5 years it would be hard to argue against this. The arch of history doesn’t seem to be bending towards justice or democracy. We seem to be hanging by a thread, and sadly this interview is a reminder. But, as Lawrence of Arabia said, “Nothing is written”, and faced with crossing the Nefu desert, he said “It’s only a matter of going”. It’s our desert to cross. Will we?

I only hope that the generations that have come along since can watch the speeches and interviews and gain that same appreciation for the Man and the Office. (I saw this info on a credited source but it disappeared- Apparently these children of hers didn’t want their personal family tree exposed and wanted to resort in privacy! I am truly touched that I had this heart-felt privilege of coming to know of such blessing of herself (with her husband who served in US Army… an Army dad!). As a loving mother to all my own daughters I can relate! MUST express something here- I sense that in this lovely woman’s “hear after” as we say in Christian Science, that this beautiful mother will be the highest ranking officer of the judiciary as its Chief Justice through a UNITED President who believes in either sex to serve on the Supreme Court! I can feel it in her spirit🥰❤️. Her breathtaking voice is something of a gifted treasure of love for not only the judicial system but worldly.🌍

I feel so sad hearing and seeing pictures of his secretary, Evelyn, because she is just very modest, endearing and straightforwardly simple. The respect, even deep admiration for Ms. Lincoln and the genuineness that somehow glows from her voice and into the hearts beating within each of us louder and louder as simultaneously we vividly feel and hear this unique story already heard again and again, dozens if not hundreds of times but never, not even once with the level of honesty, love and sincerity that flows with each word without plot nor advance thought. Ms. Lincoln allows herself to share history and truth free-flowingly as I've never heard another. Ironically, I spent almost a full year with President Ford as I and our staffs assisted in editing and rewriting what would become President Ford's final book; coincidentally I think not, it was on the very subject of JFK, The Commission and mostly regerjutated, decades-practiced fiction written by the pros in D.C.before the death of their president. But of historic value, whether by accident or with a final pure intent, Ford included a clever, perhaps intentionally mysterious sentence in the book I speak of that said, "leaders in D.C. immediately destroyed their JFK files upon hearing of the presidents death in Dallas." What I didn't truly think about sufficiently until Ford had passed about a year following the release of the limited 3000 copies of the book was this: who would have files that were destroyed and who would have the courage, "balls" or audacity to destroy files which were obviously owned by the American people? As I began to answer those questions, combined with the Watergate figure E. Howard Hunt's deathbed explanation as much as confession, for my first time I knew the names of the conspirators and the shooters. But, more importantly, I knew the names (or their positions or roles they played within our country and/or our government and the new presidents plans; if not his direct administration) of those who made up the cabal that approved, unanimously agreeing to not assassinate the president; in their minds, to rid their government of the man who benefited from the presidency being stolen for him, JFK. Ironically, close friends of JFK have told me that they and the Kennedy family are the very last of all the people who would ever want the entire story to be known. After all, the way it turned out, although tragic and worse, JFK will forever be the beloved & martyred president. Additionally, even the crooked and almost all-powerful LBJ would never have had the ability to literally enrich all future generations of Americans to a level only dreamed for by the best and most generous of America's leadership. We now take so much for granted but life outside the urban areas of the USA prior to 1960 was far worse economically, politically, spiritually and even morally in many ways than is the worst of the worst once LBJ's "Great Society" was implemented and even more so now with most of the national governments continuation of the 1960's liberal, generous agencies, programs and the one-time permanent improvements which even now continue to benefit all those touched by any of these many examples. Meaning no disrespect or even any ill-word for JFK, but if not for his death, he & the Kennedy legacy would not be such as it is now; poor children would still not be able to attend even high school, much less likely college as 97% of those who wish to do today! In the 1950's & even '60's, childhood hunger in the rural Appalachians, the south and on federal reservations was then a daily, national embarrassment that would have remained through today. So would have our educational system, from pre-school and certainly through our post-graduate level of education, we are the envy of the world and unmatched by generations by any other system, country or continent. Without the JFK/LBJ presidencies in our history, does anyone believe congress would have done so well for those decades before "the me generation" of the 1980's slowed but not halt, the progress still being made within these areas of our "Great Society?" Think homes now, and recall those terrible "projects" most now see as slums and beneath that of any American, would probably be seen as a genuine blessing to have, had our entire economic belief system and expectation-level not have been permanently elevated by LBJ's congress....which I'm convinced acted, as did LBJ as well, out of quilt as much as kindness as they oversaw the first great, generation-long, movement of America's great wealth from the top 2% and onto the great middle-class created then and which we as a nation saw go away in the 1980's and only now we do we realize and long-for those good, grand, even golden achievements for all Americans which all derived from perhaps the most evil and despicable planned coup in world history! GOD's SPEED ... AGAIN & AMEN!

A very interesting point though, She spoke to jfk about her concerns about his up and coming Dallas trip. He told her 'Evelyn I can’t fear being out there amongst the people , if they want to get me they can get me in church, I’m still going to Dallas’ I wonder if he knew who ‘they’ were?

You are delusional....Trump is worried about helping the common man...the great middle and lower class...making the system work for the most people. "Sticking it to" the "ins" that have been raiding the coffers for the last 75 years to the detriment of the middle and lower classes...that is why they ALL are ultra-critical of him...they (both parties) hate his success with the economy (that by ALL indicators is helping the middle class and minorities the most), foreign relations, military and the clean-up of the Justice Department - which has been weaponized against us. Now if you want to see a "me, me' me!" delusional narcissist check the last administration; clear evidence in how many times he said "I" or "me" in his speeches.

@@bevofrancis8030 Trump is a disgrace who is only worried about Trump. The man is a spoiled rich baby who has little to no regard for humanity. This is the Obama economy coming to fruition. Dude anyone who's still supporting this Russian Puppet at this point is a traitor as well. Trump has done nothing but produce a daily scandal. Seventeen different criminal investigations in two years. Trump is the greatest con artist in history. If running your inheritance to the ground and indebting yourself to a hostile foreign bank because no respectable lending institution will bailout your bankrupt business is a success story, then I guess I'm jealous of this old, bald head, fat flabby, baby penis, traitor.
