Gotta say this was my favorite non-SOG interview. Outstanding. Ed is a great guy I could spend the entire day, and evening belly up at the bar listening to him tell his story. You never know who the older gentleman is in front of you at the supermarket or coffee shop or whenever. When I see an older person with a veterans hat or shirt, pin ect., I always ask where they served and later, always, thank them. Great job Bud.

Love these Marine Corps interviews. That story of him trying to escape Parris Island is crazy. I was a fat body diet tray recruit. Didn't have to go to Pork Chop Platoon though. Got there at 225 and graduated at 190. Semper Fi 🇺🇲

Range estimation is very differicult pass a few hundred metres , and if you have a gully , dead ground in between , then even harder , and with good map reading and maps , you can take a compass bearing and draw on map , and use as a estimate .

M 40 X was the target rifle. Had they checked the published ballistic they would discover that it is practically identical to 300 yards. After that it falls off dramatically. BUT the 30 government Springfield rifle was designed to shoot 180 gr ammo. The. 308 was only designed to shoot 150 gr ammo. There was not enough room in the case for the powder and the bullet. That is why they went to the. 300 Winchester Magnum. That holds 76 gr of IMR 4350 VS 55 GR In the 06 with the 180 gr bullet.

Hey uncle Ed, love your shirt! Normal is definitely not coming back. I have been regretting selling the land you and Gloria gave me. Arizona has went down the tubes. Northern Arizona used to be LDS territory and now it's Kalifornicated. Some of the best times in my life was running dogs in Stillwater with Jerry. I was in Lock 17 for his funeral and have been thinking about going back. The place is depressed and you don't have much opportunity but the people are honest and real compared to here. How is Montana? I would love to go someday and have thought about moving there. I hear the commiefornians have invaded there also. Please tell Gloria hi and thank you. Love you guys and God bless.
