I thought that this interview compared to others with Maynard, she does a great job with her questions. They're perfectly reasonable questions and aren't followed up with terrible comments or laughter. Great interview.

Thank you for posting its entirety. For yrs. ppl have been viewing the edited one and talk shit about the interviewer. Watching the entire clip, it shows that the lady does a fine job and knows what she is doing. Which is what i figured from the beginning. Reading the other comments on the other one shows how utterly stupid.immature, juvenile TOOL fans are. Fans just talk out of their ass non-stop.

1st Tool show for me was in Montreal in 1996, i was there for a work seminar. roaming around one evening w/ a couple of ppl looking for a bar someone had recommended to us. "Chris from Chicago" points to a marquee ... "TOOL". at that point i had seen 1 video and heard twice as many of their songs. long story short, that night changed my life. i believe there's a clip from that show out there somewhere. hoping to make it 7 times this year, 8 if they do KC twice like they usually do...

They played a undertow song on this tour, Flood. Last tour they had a few times they played older stuff. Played Sober a few times, with guests. Played Swamp Song in a few places. Played Opiate a very limited number of times. I think your friend didn't know very much about what he was talking about. He still has the fire to sing those songs, I think the reason he doesn't is that he has grown beyond what a lot of them are saying. He moves on with his art. Except with Ticks and Leeches.

He's not prententious, he just doesn't like being in the spotlight, he hates fame, and it makes him uncomfortable to talk to people he doesn't know. It's totally understandable.

I have to agree with people who are saying the girl was interviewing him well and he was just sort of being a stubborn dick. Then again, you have to remember this was almost eighteen years ago now, Maynard was still a pretty pissed off guy back then. He's gotten a lot more mellow as the years go by, Tools sound was a lot more grindy and angry in the beginning for a reason, it's always been a reflection of his emotional state.

I don't think maynard has any of those things, is it so hard to understand that someone that makes good music that people like is anti-social? He has no duty to embrace his fame, if anyone is spoiled it's you being spoiled by the american cult of celebrity. He doesn't owe you shit, including interviews.

@SaintPaul122 Today, MTV is trash. U can't run the tv and make music and make videos and light and...you are musician or video director. But, MTV wants control of everything...because of that fact, we don't have music anymore!
