Maynard has made me happy with his bands over the years, Maynard is now in his 50s. Maynard is now making wine and that makes him happy So whats the problem? he put in the hard work to make us happy, so why are we not happy for him now he wants to retire? Lets cut the man some slack here. Its very selfish to actually be mad at him for this. I support it, think its something to look up to. hes always just done what hes wanted with zero fucks given and its always been a success.

Nominie heart I see what you mean. I have been a long time fan of JMK and respect all of his work. I have been to Jerome a dozen times when I lived in Phoenix and Scottsdale AZ. I see why he loves that area, its great that he seems excited about his wine.

A lot of music fans have a huge sense of entitlement. I love the work that Maynard put out as a musician, but the fact remains that he his a sentient human being with his own needs, goals, and desires. He gave us all some beautiful, enlightening art to enjoy and learn from. Now he's decided to settle down and make wine, and you know what? More power to him. He should do what makes him happy; he doesn't exist solely to create music for us to enjoy.

I so admire anyone in the music industry, putting out the type of music he and Tool put out, while being able to have the normal life and pursue other interests. It's smart. It's balance. This guy's got it figured out, best of both worlds. It irritates me when anyone criticizes a musician in this genre for doing something like this. You have to be strung out, hit bottom and follow those before you off a cliff in order to be 'real'? Hell no. Hats off to Maynard and his pursuits.

Back in May my Dad lost his battle with cancer. Mom and Dad were living in AZ so I was out for his funeral and help my elderly Mom get back on her feet again. Well, during a visit to Sedona I realized I was not far at all away from Jerome, so we went and I got to taste his wines at the tasting room. What an awesome little town, and nice tasting room too. The staff were very friendly and although I couldn't mail any wine home, I got a bunch of shirts for my family. Keep up the good work MJK!

These wines are exceptional. Awesome he called the one merkin. The caduceus name is much more of a philanthropic gesture I think however -- bravo Maynard for choosing it -- hopefully people will learn more about it, what it is, and how it has been and is being used.
