Petri Lindroos has done 5 albums and over a dozen sessions at Astia-studio with platinum-selling producer/engineer Anssi Kippo.
To celebrate 30 years of Astia-studio you are welcome to join a trip down memory lane with Ensiferum and x-Norther guitarist/vocalist Petri Lindroos as he shares memories from both the studio sessions and live shows with Anssi Kippo.
Learn interesting details about the making of Ensiferum albums One Man Army and Two Paths, Norther albums Mirror of Madness and Death Unlimited, along with how Alexi Laiho and Children of Bodom have affected Petri's musical journey. Today Petri is sharing the stage also with Janne Wirman, the keyboard-virtuoso from Children of Bodom by joining the Warmen band as the guitar playing lead vocalist.
Anssi Kippo has worked with Petri Lindroos at Astia-studio from 2002 to 2017 and mixed FOH sound on Norther live shows from early 2000's until Petri's departure in 2009 including 2006 mini tour in Japan and Taiwan along with numerous shows and tours in Finland and all over Europe.

It's been over 16 years since I met Norther, and it is still my favourite band. I remember as it was yesterday, my friend had shown me the Mirror of madness videoclip, I had thought it was too extreme but then I listened to the solo and I was amazed. The day after I was learning to play it and after a few time I could play the entire album. The solo from Mirror of Madness is still my favourite of all time, I hope one day I can have a gear that can sound as close to the tone they used for mirror of madness and death unlimited solo guitars. Nowadays many bands sell tabs, I'd definitely buy Norther tabs if they release them. As for the band, I was really sad when Petri "left" and when the band broke up. But I understand how things work now, maybe a reunion in the future? Who knows. The stories Petri told are really funny, it is really nice to know a little about the background during all that years.😂 Subbed to the channel, hugs from Brazil.

Cannot recall what gear we used, but for solos it was a very excited guitarist, a distortion pedal to a tube amp (or most likely a separate tube preamp and tube power amp) to a 4x12" cabinet and one mic in front of it. 🤔

​@@Astiastudio Pakko kysyä Anssi tämä, kun se Trashed and lost in Helsinki DVD:n bodomit julkaisi kai 2005, niin siinä oli Alexilla kovana agendana soittaa Kipolle ja varata studio, et äänittävät jonkun biisin, ns. ´´sinkkudiili´´. ´´Pistetään 10 biisiä, ei me tarvita niin monta päivää´´ 😅Niin soittiko Alexi silloin oikeasti sulle ja varasi studion, koska pojat oli siinä bodom järven jäällä jurrissa ja näytti siltä, ettei illan päälle soitosta tullut enää mitään ja seuraavana päivänä ne heräsi ja huomasi unohtaneensa sen ´´ainiin, se vitun studio´´? Vai oliko kyseessä vain sketsi jonka pojat keksi siihen, kun ethän sä enää työskennellyt siinä vaiheessa heidän kanssa? 😅 Itseä harmitti aina, kun Kiposta ja bodomin sketsimäisistä videoista ei enää sen jälkeen kuulunut, kun dvd-aika loppui. 😅 Toki jos viitsit, niin kysäse Henkalta tästä aiheesta, se muistaa varmasti jotain siltä illalta kun se DVD kuvattiin, aihe liittyy vähvasti sinuun ja astiaan ja sopii haastattelun aiheeseesi? 😅

Awesome video, this series is the best! Had the opportunity to see Petri with Ensiferum in the end of last year and it was amazing. Hoping Warmen come here one day to experience "Norther Of Bodom" live (Petri, if you see this please come to Portugal!!!). My favorite Norther album is definitely the debut. Norther oli kyl livenä tosiaan älyttömän kova. Pari kertaa ehdin nähdä, ja eka oli Nosturissa 2003, kun jätkät lämmitteli Dimmu Borgiria ja Hypocrisyä. Aivan timanginen keikka, joka loppui Final Countdown coveriin 😂
