During the Weekend of August 5th 2012, an incredible gesture of Global Unity & Socially Conscious Artistic Expression occurred across the world from Australia to Vancouver, BC. Coupled with a Global Food Drive to help the growing poor population, the 2nd Annual Zeitgeist Media Festival is working to inspire creative change in a world which seems to be running out of ideas to help itself.
In the words of journalist Bruce Lyons of "Hollywood Today": "It was a Festival of full-spectrum conviction, overflowing with compelling emotions that reflect the real conundrums pressing in upon our emerging global society with accelerating force. In this sense this now-annual Festival is a natural outgrowth of a growing, terrestrial upheaval that is going to leave no part of man's collective being untouched."

The Main Event in Los Angeles CA packed hundreds of people into the Historic Avalon Hollywood Club with a 37 segment, 7 Hour Program, featuring everything from Films to Comedy to Avant-Garde Theatrics. Featuring renowned, Multi-Cultural Musical Artists such as Sussan Deyhim, Cofield Mundi & Lili Haydn to counter-culture icons like Marianne Williamson and Rutger Hauer, this non-profit event raised over 700 Pounds of food, working on a purely volunteer platform with logistical/curation support from Steve Robertson's Project Peace on Earth [ www.projectpeaceonearth.org/ ] the LA FoodBank, The Artivist Film Festival [ artivist.com/ ] and more.

Recognizing the power of art and media to help change the world, the annual "Zeitgeist Media Festival"(ZMF) bridges the artistic & activist communities in the hope to inspire change. It recognizes that deeply needed, radical changes in the structural/economic workings of society can only manifest in tandem with a personal/social transformation of values in each of us.
Keeping the gesture of the long history of influential artistic creators whose vision have changed our world for the better, the ZMF works to unify the world through this expression with the basic ethos that we are One Species sharing One Planet and it is time the world learns to work together for the betterment of all before it is too late.
Mission: The Mission of The Zeitgeist Media Festival is to unify the world through annual awareness events that bridge the difference between all nations, races, classes, genders and creeds; to understand we all share the same basic needs; to understand we are truly One Family sharing One Habitat and that our world views and hence societal approaches should reflect this foundational Global Perspective. The ZMF works to help facilitate this unifying expression for all socially conscious organizations that wish to use the power of Art to effect change in the social "Zeitgeist" - advancing our value system to see how much positive possibility there is for real social change if we choose not to fear it.

I've always liked Rutger Hauer. An artist must keep his mind in a spiral state to bring forth creativity within...the finest of art comes from an emotional thrust into being...Thanks for supporting TZM, Rutger. ~ World United Music ~

Great guy, and great actor. I hope we see more celebrities being brave enough to come out the woodwork in the future and proving that they've got a conscience and actually give a damn. Now THATS a role model for our kids.

He actually was. Thanks to a tip from the Axis History Forum I am now aware of "Soldier of Orange"/"Survival Run" (originally "Soldaat van Oranje"), a 1977 Dutch film starring one of my favourite actors, Rutger Hauer. Also, there was Fatherland (TV 1994)

not sure either -but i think it was about the sea shepherds - which is a bunch of oceanographers kinda like green peace only they actually sink illegal whaling ships instead of just monitoring them - they have sunk 23 i think - about 6 norwegian and 17 japanese whaling ships - they rarely get any publicity -and are labeled environmental terrorist by many countries - but also they rarely get arrested because the illegal whalers don't want the publicity and never press charges

ah -im not aware of all their activities - how ever i believe all the ships they have sunk have been in violation of international whaling treaties - they may be opposed to faroe islanders whaling -but they haven't killed them or sunk their ships- as far as i know. they maybe misguided -but defending the oceans ecosystem in general is something i think we can all agree on

she wasn't listening - he a person who is concerned - activist is a bs label - and she kept saying he was one - not saying who's right about it - i personally don't think activist is a bs label. - she could have said concerned person. but be a concerned person or an activist - this is what change is about. unfortunately too many people are "apathetist "and unconcerned
