A great interview. "The Godfather is about a family who happen to be gangsters" - beautifully said by Ms Lee. Couldn't agree more. Neil Gaiman's versatility and creativity is amazing. So nice to learn about Ms Lee's creative process.

Awesome interview, Mike! I saw some parts of it during the premiere. And I'm really glad you read and enjoyed this trilogy. Cheers for the shoutout at the beginning, made me smile! 😄

Aside from the feudal-esque patronage network aspect with the "Lantern Men", I never really thought "Japan" when reading about Kekon. I think of the nation as a wild hybrid of the Philippines and Taiwan without copying either. Speaking of, the geopolitics of the series was just * chef's kiss * - I would read a spin-off just to enjoy running with all the implications of the way things were going. In the right hands with the right budget and creative freedom, the Green Bone Saga TV show would be a thing of heart and beauty and incredible action scenes - But as we all know, the industry is having some issues with adaptations on multiple levels these days, so I'm chill about it. All in due time.

Great conversation, she was really nice and I loved how she took her time to answer every question

I loved this interview. She is entirely authentic in my estimation. You asked her a question, she thought about it, then answered. None of her replies seemed canned and I felt throughout the entire hour she was engaging with you rather than trying to sell books as many author interviews seem to turn into. She's fabulous and I hope there is a time she's back on the channel. - my discord alter ego Senor Pineapple also agrees :)

This was enlightening. I hadn't looked into the Jade books but using the Godfather to describe it peaks my interest.

saddly it’s not just using the Godfather to describe it, it’s a copy and paste in many places, same story, same characters, same events

Okay, after hearing McCaffrey's Dragonrider and Asimov's robot series as influences I will have to read this series. Read both in my youth.

This has been on my list for some time Just got bumped up. I love listening to authors explain their methods for storytelling and she’s very compelling to listen to, so I’m assuming that translates to her writing

Great interview! I liked the Speaker View at the beginning. I'm looking forward to Ms. Lee's spin on sci-fi. Head Full of Ghosts is really good. Very creepy. It's a story one doesn't forget easily.
