Princess Charlene didn't seem very happy during public appearances until she had children. She appeared to be shy or private, and not enjoy the attention. But since their children arrived, her entire appearance has changed and she looks very happy.

I think Albert is attractive in his own way. The rumours before they married could be true, but she did marry him & has stayed with him for 9 years. As typical of many royals, he ran around sowing his wild oats, which is wrong, because how did he know whether or not these women would have babies. Maybe to 'trap' him into marriage. Charlene was not pregnant before they married, & they had a few years before the twins were born. If she was that unhappy she could divorce him now. She does seem to love him & I believe he loves her. As a woman born in Rhodesia like Charlene, & having lived in South Africa like her too, I understand it must be hard for her. The lifestyle is completely different- she did not come from an aristocratic or royal family either. I think in general she's quite shy & a private person, but she seems to be more outgoing now. If Albert had to move to South Africa & learn Afrikaans, I doubt he'd find it easy. I do think Charlene should make more of an effort to learn french, as I think that also makes her feel left out when people around her are speaking French. I personally love French & I would love to learn it. They are teaching their twins, French, Englush, Afrikaans & Zulu - so that is good. My mum was Dutch Afrikaans, my dad, Welsh. When I was born in Rhodesia, my dad never spoke Welsh, & he would not let my mum speak Afrikaans. So we grew up only talking English. I do wish I'd learned Welsh though. People mistakenly think Charlene & Albert started dating in 2000 when they met at the Monaco olympics. But he only asked her for a drink after a dinner in Monaco for the Olympics. They lost touch & she contacted him in 2005, to give her sympathies to Albert, for the loss of his father. They started dating in 2006, officially. I know there's another or more upcoming paternity suits, & I'm hoping he did not cheat on Charlene or have more children. That could spell the end of the marriage. I don't think he's been unfaithful to her since marrying her, I think he knows she would not tolerate it. They do seem quite settled. His two illegitimate children are not ignored. He first lied about them, but then the DNA tests proved he was their father. His illegitimate daughter was invited to live in Monaco, she's in her 20's now & quite lovely. There are pictures of them together looking happy. It's said Charlene has accepted both illegitimate children, & has a good relationship with them. After all, it's not their fault. The son is biracial as his mum is black. She was an airhostess with Togo airlines. NOT because she's black, but she's very unattractive & Albert had a relationship with her for 6 years. I don't understand it as he was surrounded by plenty of beautiful black women too. Albert has accepted him too, & has pictures of them together. Neither of the illegitimate children were at the wedding, which would have been a bit of a slap in the face for Charlene. People say she cried all through the wedding. She did not! She cried after a certain hymn was sung. I truly hope their marriage works out, as things have always gone wrong for the family in the past. As a former Rhodesian, still in my heart, I'm proud of Charlene.

The Princess does not speak French yet, but it took some 5 years to Princess Grace to adjust to the French language that finally she spoke perfectly and with a delicate sense of humour !

Well, the thing is that Princess Grace spoke French even before she was married; it was a schoolroom French and she was extremely uncomfortable speaking it, especially publicly. Princess Charlene speaks no French at all, and it is quite natural that the people of Monaco (her subjects!) take issue. Seven years into the marriage Princess Grace was able to communicate even in Monegasque.

Just for the record, did they do a French-English interview on purpose for the international audience, or has Princess Charlene still not learned French fluently over the past six years? I speak both languages and I absolutely know how challenging it is to display confidence in one's French skills, but seriously, she's the representative of her country who's got all the opportunities to become acquainted with the language and culture! 😒 She may talk to her children in whatever language she prefers, but that was a public interview years after their wedding! I have to say, it is a little disappointing how much she seems to lack commitment to fully realize her new identity... and I'm not even Monegasque! Either way, the babies are adorable and they look happy! ❤

Some people have a natural ability to pick up a new language very quickly some people do not. Give Princess Charlene a break. It is much more difficult for an adult to pick up and learn a new language then it is for children. Remember she had to make the adjustment to living in a new country and getting married and then becoming a new mother. She is a lovely lady indeed. Let’s see how many of you could pick up and move to a foreign country, get married and become a new mother and then learn to speak say Russian at the drop of a hat. Congrats to Princess Charlene on what she has already accomplished. Oh by the way she also converted to Catholicism too!!! Way to go Princess Charlene👍🏻💕 Shame on those who criticize her.

Oh come on, no one will be a king nor a queen, the highest title in their country is prince/princess, that's why it's called principality, not kingdom. And please research further about Monaco. They must always have a male heir, a prince. Otherwise, their tiny country will be automatically be part of France and the monarchy will be removed. That also means, all the traditions, the splendor and magic of this country will gradually decline, until it become extinct. Unless France is willing to let them go, it' easier but then again, Monaco is more traditional than alot of European countries. This happened before when Prince Rainier's maternal grandfather(an heir then) didn't have a legitimate heir, he adopted his illegitimate daughter and when he became the head of state, and had a grandson, their country was secured. If Albert didn't marry and of course will not recognize his illegitimate son as the heir, he would mos probably adopt his eldest nephew Andrea Casiraghi. This is the reason why Prince Rainier started to search for a wife when he was enthroned.

Wir waren Kinder... Mein Kind, wir waren Kinder, zwei Kinder, klein und froh; wir krochen ins Hühnerhäuschen , versteckten uns unter das Stroh. Wir krähten wie die Hähne, und kamen Leute vorbei- Kikeriküh! sie glaubten, es wäre Hahnengeschrei. Die Kisten auf unserem Hofe,die tapezierten wir aus und wohnten drin beisammen und machten ein vornehmes Haus. Des Nachbars alte Katze kam öfters zum Besuch;# wir machten ihr Bückling und Knickse und Komplimente genug. Wir saßen auch oft und sprachen vernünftig wie alte Leut.
