They’re better than early 2000s CGI. Like in the original Spider-Man and Die Another Day. I’ll take a robotic Aslan and hand drawn animation that has character over CGI.

Oh no bro not the only one me and my sisters grew up watching this my mother rented the dual vhs lion witch and wardrobe from the library one time and we fell in love with it I bought all the books then my mother got me the full bbc Chronicles of Narnia tapes on VHS for Christmas one year and I still own them to this day 2020 :)

My grandpa had this series on VHS and every time we stayed over at his house my siblings and I would watch it. I had such great memories of it. He died this past year, on Christmas, and I really wanted to take these tapes from his place when we went through the estate. Unfortunately he had gotten rid of them, probably when he got his dvd player, so I’m happy the series can be found online. It came out before I was even born and I know the effects are terrible but I can’t help but love every second of it. I remember being terrified of the scene where they start reading the letter in mr tumnus’s house where it switches to the captain of the secret police it’s an arrest warrant and the guy roars at the end, I cried every time I watched it, seeing it now it seems kind of comical but as a child he haunted my dreams.

i grew up in brooklyn in the 90's. my dad was always at work and my mom had cancer. we never really got to go out. also the neighborhood was too dangerous for us to go out and play on our own. i remember being really depressed this one summer hearing about where my class mates would go that summer knowing i would be stuck at home. i remember my brother sister and i were flipping through the channels and found narnia. we grew up with the books so we watched. we spent most of the summer indoors and the highlight to everyday was when narnia came on. we would record it and watch it over and over. one of the best summers i had as a kid.

I grew up watching these (everyday) and when the new Disney version came out in 2006 I was apprehensive but the new version was really good as well. I always consider this version (80's) the proper version it covered more material and was more authentic to possibly the England Lewis was accustom to.

I have to be totally honest and say that I liked and disliked both the films and the TV series but for different reasons. I liked the TV Series for the way they so accurately followed the books. Many of the things either added or changed for the films drove me insane because they were so stupid. I like bits of all the films but i didn't take to Dawn Treader film version because it barely follows the book at all. Prince Caspian basically had the most important elements of the story but in a strange order and Peter becomes such a pompous controlling prat determined to remain in control I was throwing stuff at the screen when he was on it. However, some of the casting in the TV Series never seemed right. Lucy didn't fit my idea of her (she was never actually described so I think, more accurately I should say she didn't fit the drawings) Georgie Henley however fitted better in both image and her general portrayal of Lucy. In my opinion. Liam Neeson as Aslan was so perfect for the voice of Aslan in a way that cannot be described. Some of the changes in the film I approve of, such as the battle in LWATW and the coronation. The language was changed to make it more acceptable to the current generation which was fine. Also, the film dealt with a few minor details missed out in the books, like Lucy had a dagger which was basically forgotten about. Not holding the fact technology then was not was it was when the films were made. Nor that they may have been low budget. The story was important nothing more.

I first saw this cast reunion interview when I got the box set of the chronicles of Narnia, and it was lovely to watch :) I remember watching the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe when it came out, way back in 1988 when I was 7 years old. It was my favourite childhood story!! I'd watch it with my family every Sunday evening when it was on - good times! :) Many people who weren't maybe as pretty when they were young often grow into a swan, and that's what's happen to Sophie Wilcox here! (Thank goodness for orthodontic treatment, eh ;) although I'm hardly one to speak as I needed braces for being goofy when I was young too! lol) She seems a sweet girl, although I confess it does nark me slightly that she seems to hog most of the talking and question-answering in this interview! It would have been nice to hear Jonathan talking a bit more, but he's obviously just more quiet and reserved than the others. It's interesting how he says he 'occasionally' gets recognised as I think out of all of them, he's the one who looks the most similar to when he played Edmond - his face has barely changed in my opinion, and I'd definitely recognise him instantly if I ever bumped into him!! It's lovely to see them all reunited, and clearly they're all good friends all this time on, which is really nice! :)

@@lauramorgan7661 In the books it wasn't mentioned until Voyage of the Dawn Treader - the THIRD one for these characters. So Lewis may not even have come up with it until that point. In this specific mini series, I'm still not sure if it was mentioned at all. It _is_ annoying how much the films use it, but I guess it was hard to avoid since they interact more with people from "our world" in the films. Narnians wouldn't use it, of course, but in our world it would be a common and quick way to refer to them all.

@@clarebell5926 if you watch the Blue Peter interview about The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe, then Sophie Wilcox (Lucy) would explain how confusing it was having two Sophies lol.

That actors for Peter and Ed are the most recognizable. However, if I were to see Johnathan today, I'd assume he was some business executive.

Camilla Power (Jill in 'The Silver Chair') has appeared in many plays and dramas over the years, most notably 'Waterloo Road' (2005). David Thwaites (Eustace) works in film production and lives in America. Sophie Wilcox (Lucy) was in an ITV drama called 'Imogens Face'' a few years ago and played a babysitter. I don't know about the others. Do they have social media? The short answer is no.

I moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE from Karachi, Pakistan in 1998 to live with my mother and sister. I attended the American School there which i did not like at all and moved back to Karachi in December 1998 where it was much better. But during my time there i exchanged videos cassettes with a classmate and he had lend me The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I asked for it cause I read the book and a family-friend living with us in Abu Dhabi was also a fan of the books and they were sold at a classroom order option. Me, family friend and sister watched it. I watched it with our family friend almost everyday after school before I moved back to Karachi in December 1998. Good old times. The remake focused on special effects and less on story.
