Morgan thought that Louis was either an American soldier who went AWOL or an American Communist who wanted to join the Red Army. He was saying that if Louis was a communist wanting to join the soviets, he was misguided, and facing a reprimand for going AWOL would be heaven compared to life in the U.S.S.R.

Daniel was the true MVP of this episode for me (without enough Lestat 😩). His nonstop snark was a gift. I love how much he hates Armand. I don't trust Armand for some reason, so anything that annoys him, I'm on board with. Go Daniel!

Brianaaaaa is baaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!! I missed youuuu!!! 😁😁😁😁 This episode was so good better than I could've ever imagined, the European parts were dark and eerie and a little atmospheric horror movie, Daciana's storyline perfectly sums up the themes gong through all of Anne's books of what it means to be a vampire and the hopelessness that can come with it and it's heartbreaking to see Louis and Claudia starting to learn it first hand.. the Dubai trio is everything! Louis/Jacob is acting his ass off.. and Daniel and Armand snarky asses are just everything! gosh I'm so in for this ride!!!!

Louie and Daniel but then in episode 2 I think Armand spares him from Louie’s cruelness and that was something i didn’t expect. Daniel was always meant to unlock Louie though and I love that for them.

It's interesting that Armand said his name is in the removed pages. How exactly? They hadn't met yet. So was it in Bruce's thoughts? Confused.

Those are different pages, actually. There are the ones that Louis physically ripped out but then, in the last episode of season 1, Daniel mentions that there were some pages that were removed with careful precision ('more like...with a ruler...?') Those were the ones in which Armand seems to have been mentioned - it doesn't seem like even Louis knows what's in those. (The ones regarding Bruce, Louis ripped out himself after reading.)
