Haha! You're onto something! A decaying vampire is called a *_revenant_* a word that’s long been used to describe creatures that return from the dead in real-life folklore and other literature. Rice’s revenants are humans that are bitten and then buried, thus preventing a proper transformation into the dark gift. They become a mindless creature; think of of them as vampire zombies.

Claudia is more vampire than Louis or Lestat. She may be older in years, but she still has the impulses of a teenager. The sad thing is that Louis and Claudia are looking for “good” vampires and Lestat is the “good” vampire. The me & you scene in the truck was heartbreaking. Claudia looked so young and fragile. Re: Dream Lestat Louis is grieving. Louis wants to be forgiven and punished by Lestat. Louis loves Lestat and he’ll never be over him.

22:53 This scene! Whew, this scene! What I see in Daniel's face is that, despite demanding the unvarnished truth, he is disturbed by this open anguished vulnerability, and almost concerned for Louis. So much so that he musters enough empathy to offer Louis a break rather than siezing on the moment and milking it for all it's worth. It's a small moment, but a shift in what their relationship has been thus far. I'm really curious to see how this relationship unfolds now that Louis is a more emotionally open interview subject. Also Daniel and Armand are great! He called that man Shah Rhu Khan! He said his Rashid attire was goofy and straight out of party city 😂😂! He said " ✋️✋️ no no. Nobody's talking to you right now, wait your turn," after pestering Armand into agreeing to this! GAG! 😂 That old man has no f*cks left to give and is ready go toe to toe with this 500 yr old vamp!

Love new Claudia. Love the emotions. Jacob is really bringing it. Danny is now extremely on to Armand and he is becoming menacing. I think we're going to see a lot of scenes with him standing or sitting in front of Louis. He will be akin to a wall between anyone and Louis.

NTM on my baby but Louis does need to STAND UP. The first episode was so good, jokes aside. New Claudia is doing amazing, Jacob is acting his ass off, Sam is still insane as Lestat and I love Assad and Eric's performance as well. Every one is bringing their A game and it's so enjoyable to watch. Can't wait to get destroyed by that You and Me line this season.

Poor Claudia is so lonely and wants companionship and understanding. She wants Louis to move forward but that's not how abuse victims move sometimes. Louis wants to be there for Claudia but can't fully. They are both hurting. Well acted!

I was sad when they killed the Romanian lady. She was cool asf. The crusty vampires were a cool take, all the bad blood jacked them up. Really loving new claudia and looking forward to the next episode.

That’s the thing, Louis didn’t switch up. She tried to convince him to do something that he didn’t want to do in the first place. These vampires have complicated relationships. Try as they might, but their relationships don’t actually mirror human relationships. It’s much deeper and twisted, not conventional at all. Listen, y’all show watchers would gag over book Louis & Claudia’s relationship or Lestat and Gabby’s🤭

Sam Reid sums up Louis and Lestat perfectly , " maybe they shouldn't be together but they are always curious about each other, push - pull, that's what makes them perfect for each other 😢 Not to mention the Vampire bond made with love. ❤

Adrian, thank you so much! I got rid of my cable and this series is the only thing I still wanted to watch. Your recaps are fire! I always told people to read the 2nd book first because Louis is so whiney and Lestet is such an asshole. They're both insufferable and desperately need therapy. Lestet with his abandonment and Mommy issues and Louis being ridiculous.

There seems to be a lot of hate for Lestat, which i think is unwarranted. I'm not going to spoil it, but much of what Lestat said is going to be proven to be true. Lestat wanted a separate life apart from the vicious bullshit the vampires in Europe are up to. Lestat truly loves Louis. If you read the books, you would know he would never kill him. His real beef is with Claudia, who was the one who actually did try to kill him. She manipulated Louis into trying to kill the vampire he loves. She tried to take Louis away from Lestat, and then wonders why Lestat blows up on them.
