^^^ You probably watched a ton of dramas and/or tried to learn stuff while watching(that sounds rude but isn't meant in a rude way).I'm not hating, it's the same thing with japanese and anime in my case so it's basically a matter of watching so much content that you pick up a TON of stuff to the point you can understand conversations

@@garucho5819 I'd been watching korean dramas and listening to kpop for a few years but only ever knew words like 'hello' or 'sorry' or 'aigoo' lol but I started making the conscious effort as of last year to actually pay attention to what they were saying as I read subs. For me, variety shows actually started helping the most. I think it also helped when I'd go back and rewatch videos of NCT/EXO and already knew what they were saying so I could just listen to what they were saying. Right now I'm comfortable watching vlives and live streams without subs because I understand most of what they're saying and can form basic sentences but ofc I'm still not there lol. I kind of stopped watching dramas for over a year so that might be why, the conscious learning kind of stopped haha

Lol~, even when learning the language, if someone just pulls it out on you like that, chances are you'll still be flustered and confused because you were just speaking in English (which is already a second language of many of the people there).
