that depends if your country has any kind of deal with thailand. E.g If a pakistani man wants thai citizenship , he needs to renounce his paki citizenship to become thai.

I have read that Thai citizenship is only for people working in Thailand. Is it absolutely impossible for a retiree to become Thai? I understand there is a point system. Is it possible to "overcome" the retiree status with some other positive element such as doing something beneficial to the local society or similar?

na that is simply not possible with retirement visa , they need to up business and get minimum 80k thb every month, with tax returns for 3 years minimum.
