I am a huge Sal Mineo fan. One of the things I liked about him was his vulnerability that he projected on the screen. His mini performance in "Giant" was incredible. His character dies in WW II and his body is transported back home. I remember watching Escape From The Planet Of The Apes because he was in it. But he played an ape and was killed off early.

Yes, how true. All three of these gifted performers came to a bad end. And all were young. It's tragic. It totally sucks! Rebel without a Cause was a pioneering film, and Dean was the 'first American teenager'. Even though he was 24. 😎👍

I stumbled on Sal Mineo when I was on KZbin I seen it on @KendallRae channel she does stories on celebrities. I fell in love when I first discovered him on her channel ( my eyes was like let me found out what a cute, sexy, fine, gorgeous man he is!) i found out about him that he had movies. He had music and other talent like drums he loved them when he was just a boy. (I found he went with co-star in Exodus one of his movies). I found he was gay and I said I STILL love him for who he is no matter what I still support him because he’s so adorable and gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️FOREVER LOVE SAL MINEO AND JAMES DEAN.

@der22672 You can see already. Sal Mineo's career took a nose dive in the sixties, due to persistent gay rumours which plagued him throughtout his career. He was making a comeback of sorts in the 70s. Mostly with TV roles when he was murdered in a robbery in front of his apt. in 1976. Natalie's career really took off after "Rebel" and after her role opposite Warren Beatty in "Splendor in the Grass". She ended the sixties with the contoversial "Bob & Ted & Carol & Alice", a racy movie which was a huge hit when it debuted. However, she took time off (semi-retired) in tge 1970s, taking time to raise her kid. She had just completed a sci-fi film at the time of her death. Dean had been poised to be a huge star, having signed a ten picture deal with Warners, and set to play Rocky Marciano in the boxing biopic, "Somebody Up There Likes Me". He was replaced with Paul Newman in that role. He also was contemplating playing Billy the Kid in "The Left Hand of God", (also replaced with Newman).

Sad to say but .. from what I've read- After returning from the restaurant, they were all so drunk, Wood, Walken and Wagner, that I don't think any of them had ANY control over their actions. Then whatever argument came up - they were just, out of control. So, Natalie tried to get off the boat - slipped - called for help - drowned - and I don't think anyone on that boat was in a condition to be able to help her -

@@jeremyjames1437 I've never read/heard that. They were friends on the set of Giant. Perhaps, you're confusing this with Rock Hudson. I think Dean was straight. I dig and accept him no matter his preference. I'm a huge fan of Monty Clift, for example. Dean was in love, big time, with Pier Angeli, so much so that he wore a pendant around his neck, with a lock of her hair, even when they split. He was devastated when Pier's parents forced her to marry Vic Damone, the singer. She loved Dean and said so right up until she died, young herself at 39. Problem was he wasn't Italian or Catholic and in those days, these parents anyway, had too much to say about things like that. Dean also dated actress Ursula Andress, 1st James Bond gal, towards the end. He invited her to join him in his Porsha and ride up to Salinas, with him. She declined and prolly spared her life, in the bargain.
