@@inthekitchenwithmatt It will be either tonight or tomorrow. Im attempting to make a Minnie Mouse cake for the first time right now and was looking for a good video on making cake pops so that I could use the excess cake chunks for that. Ive looked up before how to do cake pops but every video i came across left me still with questions but you made it seem SUPER easy. So i will keep you updated! And thank you for saying youd help me with any questions i might have! 🤞🤞

@@treefiddy5000 So awesome! Good luck with your Minnie Mouse cake. :) :) Are you using fondant? You are very welcome! haha yeah I make cake pops with excess cake whenever I do themed cakes. My last themed cake was a Detective Pikachu cake, haha. And of course I made cake pops with the leftovers.
@treefiddy50005 жыл бұрын
@In The Kitchen With Matt I had attempted to do it with fondant but there were some very important steps in the very beginning that the 2 videos i was following along with didn't mention so my fondant did not turn out well. But after some googling i figured out my mistake (needing to heat the liquids). So eventually i plan on trying fondant again. But i ended up doing buttercream frosting. The cake turned out pretty awesome for my very first time doing everything from scratch. I didnt get the chance to do cake pops because i was so exhausted from spending the night on frosting the cake. But i still plan on using your video for cake pops! I have it saved!

@@inthekitchenwithmatt they didn’t work :( they all fell over and broke after I tried for 3 hours
@inthekitchenwithmatt2 жыл бұрын
@@facebookmumwap7476 A few reasons that could have happened, you made the cake balls too large, and they were too heavy, or do added too much frosting or not enough frosting to the cake. Those are the most common reasons for them falling off the stick.

Very helpful! Is it recommended to refrigerate after covering the entire pop with frosting before serving to firm up?
@inthekitchenwithmatt5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! you mean after covering the pop with chocolate? They aren't covered with frosting. :) Yes you can put them in the fridge to firm up quicker. But most types of melting chocolate for cake pops will firm up on their own at room temp. And they can be stored at room temp for 4 to 6 days. :)

How can these be stored if you wanna make them the day before the event you need them for? Would they be ok in a container on the counter just overnight?
@inthekitchenwithmatt5 жыл бұрын
Hello! :) You can just store them on the counter. At one point I had mine just sitting in a glass without a plastic cover or anything for like 5 days and they were still great. Some people may say store them in the fridge, but I wouldn't recommend it, the cake pop might crack due to the temperature differences. So yes in a container on the counter will do just fine. :) Or if you had the little gift baggies that can go on top of them and then tied off with ribbon, those would work great too. :) Good luck! let me know how it goes. :) :)

ik the video is from 2 years ago so u might noe respond anyways the drizzle over the cake pops should be choclate or something else???
@inthekitchenwithmatt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex! In this case, I used leftover melted chocolate for the drizzle. But you can use whatever you like to decorate them after they are dipped. But melted chocolate is the most common.

Happy the video helped! :) Just make sure you don't make the cake balls too big. That should help them to stay in the stick as well. :)
