Method 1 - 1:00 - Maximus multi-band compression Method 2 - 4:45 - Manually remove the frequency using the Edison plugin Method 3 - 7:45 - Set up a dynamic EQ to listen for the harsh, sibilant sounds and reduce them.

Instead of having to drag and drop the edited vocals every time, you can just right click on the last button, it replaces the vocal in the channel and in the playlist. You can drag and drop if you want it as a separate entry.

Really gave me so much information that I was missing. Earlier I used to just put a deesser plugin and adjust the threshold. Never really changed the actual target frequency for deessing and it used to clean some esses but not all problem frequencies in that area so as a result I tend to do a lot of deessing.

Thank you so much for doing such wonderful tutorials. U have really helped a lot of us on our journey in music production. U hv in recent times become my go to teacher in my misunderstood concepts about music production. Pls next time when doing this kind of videos, try & give us the results of everything at the end so we could see in real life application, which method we prefer & please try to cover more concepts, like maybe tutorials on various plugins like the Ozone 9 modules. I know it’s so much to ask but some of us like me depend on you so much for like 85% of our problems. Thank you so much Michael. We love you❤️😘

A big thumbs up to this video, I am certainly grateful for this because I have a project coming up. But I have to say man, I don’t necessarily agree on the last method. Yes, it gets rid of the ‘s sound’ but I couldn’t help but notice that it also cut off peak sounds that weren’t necessarily ‘s sounds’ for example the word “along” at 9:30 - 9:35 was cut as the software noticed that it was a peaking sound. Maybe that’s just my lack of experience/knowledge of the software, but it was certainly an eye catcher for me. Loved the video nonetheless!
