The push box is working well for you. Good idea to warm up the tractor while you clear the sidewalks - I push the snow out of my parking area into my backyard as far as I can go without getting stuck. However, getting stuck is becoming less of a concern since I added rear ballast to my little BX. My problem now is the front of the tractor gets pushed sideways by the plow and heavy snow. It's a hand full to keep it moving - I'm still learning. I don't get the amount of snow you get, so plowing is a skill that needs refreshing every year for me. I am enjoying the journey - cheers
@InTheWoodyard3 жыл бұрын
You might need to use the float feature on your plow/pusher, if you have it, it allows you to still steer.

The tractor/pusher is working great for you. I've done my share of plowing and then some. There are a couple of things we used to try and do to keep the snow from going back on the walks. One is to push the snow aggressively off the sidewalk so it goes further into the parking lot, when we were finished with the walks make one pass with the shovel in the parking lot riding against the curb on an angle and when we make a pass close to the curb we would make the pass 3 to 4 feet from the curb and then the next pass against the curb. This allows the snow to stay in the parking lot because the snow flows to the place with least resistance. You'll figure this all out with a little more seat time but some food for thought.

Not sure if the DK model has this feature but try the float position while using the snow pusher, it will help keep the front tires on the ground. If it does, push the stick all the way forward till the bucket on the ground and then push it some more, once in float, it will stay there

What happens please to those in small city homes with small gardens and pathways in winter. Does one have to move the snow off the roofs and away from the house too? I have never lived in the snow country so I really do not know. Are there "snow removing" services like lawn mowing services perhaps? It must be expensive to have a lot of gear and tools and machinery to cope with the snow let alone warm cloth, good boots and gloves and things to keep the cars, movers, garden hoses, water pipes and much more from freezing ? And heating cost too like electricity if they do not have wood heaters. Oh, is heating by wood considered more economical or more expensive that heating by other means like reverse cycle air conditioners or gas heaters please?
@InTheWoodyard3 жыл бұрын
