Hey everyone, thanks for watching! Hope you gleaned some insight from this. If you are an INTJ, what advice would you give to other INTJs? If you could give you from 5 years ago one piece of advice, what would it be?

Face you fears and worries. Make it a goal to get out of your comfort zone and to try new things. Make a point to get a little bit better every day, and work on what you are weakest at, especially. Try not to act like such a freak all the time. My greatest personal tragedy is my inability to Fe: I cannot read people's feelings or the temperature of the room, and I am totally clueless when it comes to acting like a "normal" human being when emotion is necessary. Lol. How am I supposed to "be more approachable"?

Thanks for the video, I believe it is useful! My advice to younger self would be: 1. Dream big and dare to fail 2. No planning is planning to fail 3. Small talks arent evil - it can be a beginning of something bigger you can even imagine 4. Be fully you. Even if you are the most mellow peach in the world there will be people who dont like peach. 5. Be more confident, speak up, you have unique perspective, it is needed!

Make the jump. Take the opportunity, even if (especially if) it wasn't expected. I did, and it wasn't an easy decision to make, but it turned out to be enormously beneficial, and more than worth the challenges.

I was 14 yo 5 years ago so that's according to this... 1. Don't repress emotions or you'll never learn to control them (Ni Fi loop ensues!) 2. Be aware of Fi to realize what is important to you so you don't end up sacrificing things that matter to you in pursuit of a higher goal (I lost so many things that way my goal[s] became meaningless without them) 3. Don't make plans so long term that you can trick yourself that you're working towards them when you're not and still stuck in dream phase 4. Curb your perfectionism => perfection can never exist and the will to attain it can cause paralysis, existential dread and overall isn't worth it 5. Be aware that immature Fi is 'narcissistic' in that it only thinks of itself, confront this issue

I'm an INTJ I favor cooperation to competition, but I prefer to be on a team when I do compete.
@LordHaragnok
@LordHaragnok 4 жыл бұрын
I'm an INTJ and I've tried to see if competition motivates me, but it's usually just the sense of inadequacy that comes with someone being better than me at something than the act of competition itself that motivates me. As far as cooperation, I try to avoid it unless I know that the people I'm working with are competent enough to do the work properly. Most plans I have involving a group only don't work as a result of incompetence or idiotic conduct on the part of a group member.

Samef or me. Whenever I 'really' start working on something, I am like fully absorbed by it and forget everything else....drinking water (unless a bottle is visible and reachable...hum and even if it's tthere, I'd have to "extract" myself for a minute, forcing me to think I should have a break and then I'd allow mysellf to take those extra seconds to reach out to the bottle and drink it's crazy)), eating, getting up , walk, have a break..... I only récentabout 8 months) improved a bit (with the forcing myself to have at least 2 breaks) because I finally understood that I mUST as well take care of my body correctly... Taking few breaks here and there happens more naturally now even if not yet 'automatic' and frequent enough for me to believe I reached a sane rythm...

64 year old INTJ lady here. Something I learned over the years was to communicate with the other person's personality type in mind. I have little trouble explaining my thoughts. What was hard was to learn to keep my audience in mind. Ex: I work with two ISFJ ladies... polite, traditional, family-oriented, mild-mannered. I try to tone down the direct, no-nonsense comments and say things more gently. I know I have come off as overbearing to them so I try to keep in mind who I am talking to. This won't come as a surprise but I find it harder to work with women than men. With most men I can be myself.

My god, thank you so much for this video ! Specially for the last tip, I didn't realize that I was neglecting my body and most of my physical senses before you said it (well, you didn't say that exactly but in my case I interpreted it this way). I knew that I don't like walking, don't like sports, don't really care about my appearance without clothes, that I'm really easily annoyed by sounds, that I have struggle with hygiene, with sex and a lot more but I just realized now how much I'm feeling disconnect with my body. I think unconsciously I recognize myself only as a mind, as a non-physical being. That my body doesn't count. Thank you soo much for helping understanding me more ✨

I wonder why as a sensing-repressed type (INFJ), I haven't really experience problems with diet, exercise, etc. I actually like roller coaster, race cars, sky diving, etc. What I have noticed is that I have no directional skills, and cannot handle very crowded or loud places but everything else has been easier than expected.

Yup. Great tips, from a 37yo therapist INTJ! The last piece, about bodily awareness is very, very real for me. It was so challenging that it took until I was in my 30s to realize that I am trans. I am so much more comfortable, emotionally available, self aware, receptive to feedback, etc... now that I am more present in my body. Obv, being trans delayed this even further for me, but I think the lack of awareness delayed me questioning why I was so uncomfortable existing in my body, as it felt so much easier to just ignore and avoid. Once I got curious, and started really trying to be present, it was clear there was a lot going on there. My current growth process is trying to do new things more often! Oof, that one is hard!

Ahhh called out on the learn to be approachable. I’ve learned to do that in environments I’ve developed comfort of being in but if it’s a new environment or new crowd, I’m unapproachable according to others and very intimidating for awhile. Sometimes I never end up connecting w the place or people and I end up staying unapproachable the entire time even if I’m in that environment for long term.

Good video . I loved first and fourth and last tip . There are many times I escaped from new situations despite I was ready for that and I escaped just because of my desire for perfection . In the other hand many times in my life , I fail to achieve my personal goals just because I wanted to defeat people around me in competition. And I won but that wasn’t my true desire.

A few tips of my own, when talking with people get good at finding their passions. Deep meaningful conversation and insight can be had with almost anyone as long as they are passionate. Even the least skilled individuals I've met are a wealth of knowledge about their own unique slice of life. Second, don't discount knowledge so readily as useless. A random fact can be the bridge that builds a friendship, can be the analogy that makes the pattern click, or even the door that opens to to new opportunities. Lastly, do your best to remain optimistic. I have a tendency to overfocus on weak links in the chain and without my commitment to be more optimistic i know that my perception of the world would be quite doom and gloom. While i still don't think humanity as a whole is headed in the right direction, i believe its possible we can survive our own folly as long as we share our knowledge with one another.

Thank you Chris! Love the tips... and the roots. I'm talking about your hair... growth. :P Tending to the physical body is a big one. I fall into the mindset that the body is an obstacle, or habits and routines that support the body are a waste of energy (Soylent takes that philosophy to an extreme, if anyone remembers that company). Ironically, the more attention I give to developing beneficial habits, the more energy and time (probably even a longer life) I have. Another mindset shift was giving symbolic meaning to activities, such as meals and hygiene, so that I could feel more connected to/grounded by those activities. With lots of practice, it is getting easier to meter those hyper-focused mental states that lead to neglect.

I think what's helped me with the competitive attitude is to ask myself what I hope to communicate with my achievement. How badly do I need other people to know that I can win? Or am I just doing this to gain a better grasp of the pace of things? Is this for my own skill development? Do I just really need a pick-me-up right now? 🤓

Interesting. I resonate with your struggles and I am glad that I watched this video at the right time. As an INTJ one tip I would like to add on to the second tip of 'Being approachable' is 'Sometimes it is okay to be wrong'. That makes you being perceived as less stubborn and closed minded and more approachable to the outside world. Happens more with INTJs with less developed feeling function I guess

I don't find myself particularly competitive with others at all, strangely. I guess that's a good thing? Might have something to do with how I was raised. Hey i really like this video it's very useful and thank u for uploading it. Your channel over all is great and you're very articulate. Their are some things that this video made me want to bring up. What are your thoughts on INTJ paranoia? INFJ's struggle with this too. I think that would have been a great topic to talk about. Second thing, in your second tip you said that INTJ's are hard to approach because they don't develop their feeling function until there 20's/30's. Now I think that information is incorrect because the tertiary function is actually the second function to develop and the auxiliary is the last. INTJ's in there yuth are actually very emotional and sensitive and being rationale (devloping TE) is something INTJ' have to learn. The auxiliary function for all types is the function that each of the types need to learn to be mature Would love to hear your thoughts on this

Hi great channel. Not sure if this is something other INTJ's struggle with or I am just mistyped but I have been finding myself falling more and more into Fi-Se fueled binges where basically all I do is waste time with pointless feel good sensory stuff while I am thinking about how I would do the task I am supposed to be doing if I and the world was perfect and it is kind of eating me alive. Could you maybe talk about it if it's a general theme for the type or ignore otherwise I guess. Again, great channel anyway.

HUMILITY! I suggest heaps of humility and to work on mildness. If you take the time to even practice in the mirror what a more approachable face looks and feels like, you will be more ready to implement it. People need to perceive you as open and approachable. Practice what that looks like. Also, before you speak, think out if what you have to say is mild enough for someone sensitive or said in a mild tone of voice. If you have a friend or family member you feel is honest enough, practice your approaches with them. Ask them for feed back. If you want information to be inputted in a certain way and carry a specific message or meaning, then you have to learn how to speak in a more mild manner in most cases. There will be times learning voice inflection will be especially useful to you. Take the time to learn that and practice it.

(This comment isnt video related) Lately Ive been wondering about the connection of MBTI and Horoscope and would like to hear others' opinions as well. Im an INTJ (of course) and my sign is Aquarius. When I looked into the characteristics of both, ive found that they are reaaally similar to one and other. Traits in common - Intelectual, analytical, independent, confident, open-minded, hardworking, determined, decisive, aloof, original, discards emotions, uncompromising, hates rules/limitations...just to name a few. My hypothesis is that either, they are connected or synergistic. Lemme explain. If they are in fact connected, maybe Im born as an Aquarius and as I grow up these traits kinda shape me into an INTJ. OR they are synergistic which would mean that they are not connected and Im just a sum total of the traits of the Aquarius and the INTJ. If that was the case, it would make me some kind of super Aquarius/INTJ (not in an arrogant way) beacuse of the similarity of the traits. This makes more sense because not every INTJ is an Aquarius...I think lol. Please let me know what you guys think of the connection of MBTI and the Zodiac, id love to know what you think about it! Last but not least I want to shoutout the one and only Asura for the fabulous videos and for creating a community of awesome INTJs where we can all feel understood. Thank you.
