Dave, I'm an intj too and the clothes hanger shoulder triangles are the bane of my existence as well 😅 Thank you for pointing out that the INTJ cares about the tribe! We do! So much! @An Meme yes, Te loves and cares for people through their actions. We want to build for you, create a system for you, help you invest your 401k for you so you can rest in old age, hire the right people to fix your roof so you are safe and your house too. I guess as INTJ I can sympathetize with Te blindspot.... because our Fe blindspot is our biggest struggle. We never know what to say and how to say it right that's socially acceptable. We wanna be Fi authentic to ourselves and say how we feel, but that can clash with Fe group feel and really hurt us. So we usually stay silent on the F. I imagine Te/Ti "reasons" struggle is similar.

I realised that I really do have ST play: I'm constantly tracking if physical reality does not work for people I care about. If I hear one stray remark about "ugh. this is annoying", or "I don't have x" I'll try to fix that first chance I have. At the same time I *hate* spending time on fixing reality for myself. I find it a waste of time and rather retreat into conceptual land. I suspect I'm NiFi SC/B (P) INTJ

you're exactly like this INTJ i know. my ex actually....but that's besides the point. while i was with him, and as Te-inferior AND se blindspot oh boy did I have too many moments where I mutter to myself "ugh this is annoying" or "AHH I CAN'T DO THIS" almost on the verge of raging or crying. he would fix all these issues so subtly and in the background and my life became so convenient over time. it's strange because i was only able to truly appreciate his efforts much later after the fact because I'm not so observant myself and to be quite frank didn't care that much about techy things being a feeler dom and intuitive at that. but the things he did for me and gave me (practical things like a portable charger or a cellphone because i was using a slow/broken screen one for so long) I realized I used so often. everything became easier almost without me knowing! it was seamless. It's so awesome that it was all in the background too! no huge grand displays, ulterior motives like "HEY i did this for you, what are you gonna do for me now!" No, it was just pure love and care. he's one of the awesomest people i know. we are STILL friends to this day! as for him haha. oh he definitely indulges a lot in Te sometimes, but, like you, mostly he's either in his head, his deep feels/finding himself and his identity, or he is in some team where others are involved and he is doing his best for them. and uhh as for what i did as infp for him? well boyyy did i let him FEEL. he cried his heart out in our relationship more than i did. we did all the soft emotional and cute things he wanted to do that he rejected in himself. the relationship was so compatible lmao. I let him indulge in who he was and accepted everything. he became more confident in himself. i was basically his emotionally turbulent soft pillow. i was easy to take care of lol. in a way we were like each others ideal parent figures simultaneously. he provided me structure, taught me discipline, and gave me lots of undivided attention, and I nurtured his feelings and was a good listener, believed wholeheartedly all his Ni BIG dreams. he was like some sorta superhero in a way so I REALLY did believe he could achieve all that he wanted. no doubt in my mind

(ISTP) TL;DR Fe allows me to recognize Fi, but seldom can I be a part of their world and this saddens me. : ( I can see people with Fi from a miles away but cannot interface with them. Should they humor my Ti, they can explain to me their Fi fathoms deep, yet I can only swim on their surface. I tell them how vast the oceans are and they tell me of all the richness that lies beneath. They will always be out of reach.

Funnily enough, I feel very similarly about Ti. I’m an ENFP with an unrestrained adoration for Ti users. The function seems so interesting, yet I can never truly simulate it in my mind. Most of my Ne-Fi learning process is trying to relate something to myself in order to understand it, which explains why Ti is such a blank space in my understanding; it’s so far from anything I already think or do. And it’s funny, because I say I desperately want to understand it and see its value, yet when I listen to Ti users explain themselves or read their long comments on KZbin, I find my mind tuning out very quickly because my interest crumbles pretty fast. I’m not at all wired for Ti the way I am for Fi. But if I could be another type for a day, I would settle for a Ti user in a heartbeat. I want to see the world through that lens and know what it feels like.

Some Ti embarrassment is I have trouble looking into the variety of jobs I’ve become so attached to my current position at work even though I eventually have to leave because it’s so far from home. I wish I was more like my mom who is so comfortable and unattached having worked several different places just for pay. I’m over here stuck with a tight knit restaurant family knowing my working methods enough to have recurring dreams of them.

I’m applying for places closer to home since it’s going to work better for me, but in the meantime we’re understaffed and since I’m the most experienced I’ve been training new hires that way things won’t be a wreck. It’s definitely a comfort zone in the meantime, and I’ll have to rip off the bandaid once I start a new job, even working toward a more personal and desired career path. I just feel stuck right now, I’ve become such a valued and respected employee in the workplace with a whole skill set only to soon have to start anew and build identity all over again.

As for your current place, you are doing your best to leave the place a little better then when you started. They will settle into an equilibrium soon enough. Look after yourself first, a job is a job and we are all replaceable in the end.

The only scientifically valid personality system is the big 5 and even that is still in its infancy. People are not this strict to their mbti type and your type can change dramatically from day to day. The issue with abstract definitions is you can just bend them to fit your preexisting ideas.

@An Meme lol i was talking about scientific criteria. This is the bare minimum they would have to develop in order to stop coming of as a pseudo science. Not to mention the fact that two people (who know each other well and are married) are not enough to test whether the type they are "seeing" is the correct one? How do they measure saviour/demon state? Based on behavioural patterns? No decent psychologist would do that, there is so much variation between people that you cannot just see someone fidgeting and yell "LIES". For developing an actual psychological theory they would have to start speaking the scientific language, so that their concepts and theories build upon already existing concepts. You may say that is not important in a csjoseph Ti manner, but it is since we could evaluate the originality of their findings that way, as well as finding out why certain behaviours are connected to types, a lot of cause and effect questions actually. So, my problem is also that their system is too simplistic and also, certain behaviours they connect to types could be better observed within the five factor model.
