We would have a difference on something but then realize that we actually agreed but said things in such different ways we thought we disagreed. @@anis.shazman9222 That is definitely a possibility. Early on there was occasionally friction. Luckily we had been friends for a while and talked things through. If it is something that takes a "warm and fuzzy" approach I handle it and if it requires a more direct and assertive approach we go with her thoughts. Communication was the key for us. The INFP in me couldn't get into the mindset where I thought she was supposed to know something or respond to me in a certain way and likewise with her. When handling things that come up, she is the iron fist I am the kid glove. Sometimes one is needed and sometimes the other. There have been times, such as buying a car, that our superpowers worked together and the salesman was at a loss on their sales tactics. "Do I sell to the feel good guy or the practical, wife that just started tearing this deal apart.

It's always funny listening to people explain the rarer types because people seldom get much right about them. I don't know an infp who needs any help opening up. We open up just fine when we are around people we like. There's a big difference between being shy and choosing to be reserved around certain people.

I am an infp and am married to an intj. I was previously married to an entj. I believe these two types are the most compatible for an infp but I feel that intj is the most ideal for infp. The weird thing atypical thing for my husband and I is that I tend to be more of a planner than he is but he is very laid back for an intj. The one area that drives him crazy about me and the cause of a lot of arguments is my sensitivity and what he refers to as my "little" feelings all the time. The ironic thing is I feel that I am more logical than him when it comes to anticipating what is likely to happen. He is way better at socializing than I am and way more charismatic than me. I feel that intj's can win over almost anyone with their charm. As an intj he is extremely gifted in the areas of music and physics and coming up with invention ideas. Anyways I definitely feel more understood by him than any other type. We just got married a year ago so if we don't kill each other in the next year I think we may end up being a perfect match lol...

INFPs use their strong sense of morals as sort of a brain. They base every decision off morals. Its a guide for us. Whenever we get confused we ask ourselves morally if this is what we believe in.

This is something I had to learn when discussing ideas with INFPs. They are won over primarily by explaining how something is the moral position to take. Expediency, efficiency, simplicity, etc all take a back seat to the ethics of a decision. It's very admirable really, and part of why INFPs play an invaluable role in society.

At the same time, there were aspects here which I wish I'd known, as it would have helped (like don't demand his creative projects come to fulfilment). He’s had a lot of loss in his family so he’s not at his best , but I am trying to support him through it . He has told me several times he appreciates it . I know he does . My feeling and nurturing contribution underrated. Difficult to recover self esteem now. Try not to beat yourself up over it like I have please.

I wish i could have saved it, but sometimes you have to accept things for what they really are and move on. I sincerly hope that you recover and start feeling as good as you should!

I'm an INFP she's an INTJ. We got together about 3-4 months before lockdown. That's not a lot of time to learn about one another's personality. Thanks for your nice video... I ve been dating an INTJ for a short period of time, and i didnt know all this. I am INFP, he came to me after 4 years we didnt talk, and since this moment, we were chatting everyday (one message a day). After 3 months i asked him (after drinking a bit , emotions emphatized) what king of relationship was it... because we were chatting everyday, but see each one every 3 weeks only, he had a very organize timetable. 2 days after he told me he prefered to stop the relationship because i am too emotional and introspective, make him feel scared. Everything was so perfect (maybe i idealise because i am INFP ;-)... but in the moment we had together it was so perfect. I cant understand he took a such decision based on one moment, which correspond to one way of thinking. I on't know if i am clear. But i have the feeling even if the decision is wrong, in the way he took without let it the chance to evoluate, he will not change is mind.

I have reconnected with an Intj woman in the last two years that I knew when I was younger, I'm an infp guy. While we aren't a couple, she has been the greatest help to me these last couple of years, and I feel I have been of great help to her too. Our compatibility in terms of helping eachother through life is unparalleled in my view. I feel as though we would make a very strong couple. However she has a partner so, being friends is all we will be. I am content with that, she's my best friend and I love her. Maybe one day the feelings will become to great for me again, and we'll have to part ways (again) but till that time I will cherish the connection we have.

@@m1a2r3l4o5n6 As an INFP with some kind of weird semi-romantic involvement with her INTJ best friend, INTJs are generally very uncomfortable when dealing with emotions, particularly their own, and this often causes them to withdraw. During a time when we normally would have spent hours each day talking and hanging out, my INTJ actively avoided me for around two full weeks because he felt "awkward" and was embarrassed for having opened up about his feelings for me. After that period, he went back to being his old self and we were closer than ever. I don't mean to say your friend is feeling one way or the other, but her becoming standoffish might not necessarily be a RIP. From my own experience, continue to be an awesome and caring friend to her, but let her have * some * space. She may be trying to figure out what's going on in her own heart right now. But I think she'll come around eventually. Just give it time. However, if she's already in a relationship, it may be time to back away. I fell into the trap of thinking that I'll be contented as long as we just stay friends, that when the time comes for us to go our own ways I'll do what's right and move on. Spoiler alert: I wasn't contented, and I didn't move on, and our friendship suffered some damage because of it. Sorry this was long-winded. I hope some part of it turns out to be helpful and that things work out happily for you and your friend.

I dated an INTJ and I do it again. The same person asked me few days ago how I feel and I was wondering about the message. We didn't talk around 5 months and no more dating since 8 months. I am a little bit sceptical, but between us is a real big flame of affection and attraction. He's also a creative guy and I am a creative girl...So, I thought he would be like a manager I don't want to have in the relationship or it would be like a chef and assistant relationship. After months of questioning everything about me and him, he told me that he wants me. I was surprised. Really surprised. And I told him to think about it. But INTJs want that you want them too inthe same moment...you have to accept that they are pushy and want that you decide quickly: do you like them or no?! Take it or leave it.

Idk about INTJ too much, but as INFP-A and my own experience, I'm quite comfortable with INTJ because even there are silent moment between us but I'm ok with it and feel not awkward in the silence-ness. The challenges part being with INTJ is that they are very argumentative and really stubborn to stick with their own judgment. But if they think its wrong, they just shut it off. And one thing I like about them, they are actually easily to approached eventhough they have intimidated aura..kinda of. Haha, also they can give you good advice which the most thing that I would appreciate so much because of their logical thinking (I mean most of the time, but sometimes are not lol). So thats it! Overall, I do love INTJ!

Mostly accurate for our marriage.. one thing confuses me though.. Infp has better Se? It's intj' s inferior function but it's a shadow function for infp, no? We use Si. Also, we are both super uncomfortable in social situations but despite my husband having autism, I would say he (intj) is largely better at it than me still.

INTJ female here. They don't work. I have been in a relationship with an INFP for 7 years (6 years dating, 1 year engaged), and only after the engagement I saw his side which made my PTSD trigger multiple times to the point that now I'am questioning my entire relationship with him. Yes, I did gave him multiple chances. But sadly he keeps repeating the behaviourial patter saying that he did it because I triggered his trauma (he has his own trauma too). Also, I like to move forward after planning everything. My INFP partner is a mess, and barely moves forward even after planning. My entire life has halted because of him. So no. These two don't really work, as they are complete opposites. That is my personal observation.

Sounds like it was a more individual thing... not everyone actually fits neatly into their personality label. One INFP isn't going to be like the other, if you ever decide to give a different infp a chance, I hope you can use your awesome problem solving skills to find out what made that trigger happen in the first place. Well, I hope you eventually were able to work things out.
