I am an INTJ and quite happy to follow and support a good leader. The issue is the constant need for growth and next thing you know you've outgrown not only organisations but your industry. You realise none of them are now worth your precious time and know-how so the only option left is to blaze new trails and take leadership. To be an entrepreneur. There is no other choice but you get to live your potential and contribute value to the world with your unique talents. That's how I feel about it. It's certainly lonely being an INTJ but at the same time it isn't a complaint.

before even knowing that I'm an intj I always felt that when I had to acquire a new knowledge I had a slow or medium learning pace at the first processes of learning but once I get the basics and make them mine The mastery of that subject comes really quick So I definetly relate to you saying that we intjs may start slow but afterwards we master things real quick with high efficiency It feels good to know that there are intjs worldwide that share our view on the world Intj platforms on KZbin are priceless All the best & best wishes to all intjs

It's that exponential growth - slow at first the skyrockets! We just have to stick with it over time. Thanks for the great comment!

I am an INTJ and a chief engineer at an aerospace company. Alexis, INTJ's work best outside the org chart. Your ten reasons lead to that as a possible strategy for INTJ professional growth. INTJ's do not do well inside hierarchical organizations as we do not follow rules or orders. We do not necessarily subvert the command chain, but we do go around them when it is easier and more effective to do so, while at the same time building a 'coalition of the willing' within our sphere of influence. After a surprisingly short amount of time, you realize that your influence on many business activities is greater than the person at the top of the hierarchy. You then use your sphere to influence that top manager and their direct reports, to at least not to hurt and maybe to help. The top brass usually are not great engineers...so you gotta compensate for that. I'm sure there are parallels to this in many business domains. I was the chief engineer before I had the title...and the title has changed little how I do things.

On her point about INTJs not caring about details. I don't think that is strictly true. However, I do think we easily set boundaries so that attention to details doesn't diminish attention to the bigger picture. Many times details are very important, and I at least recognize the need for details. But wasting time and energy on diminishing returns isn't a huge priority for me.

I'm extrapolating that she means detail to the level of a pedant, and then having to repeat those mind-numbing details in processes that an ISTJ would actually enjoy. Spending most of our time in Ni is always going to be energizing and useful. We live in a world rife with problems, and we happen to come up w/ viable solutions that can benefit the entire ecosystem. Execution could be outsourced--it's meant to be that way, most of the time, because all the other people on the planet need to be doing something meaningful & productive, as well. They don't have the ideas, but they're willing to be told what to do, and they need jobs. We're the job-creators who know where people fit in the world.

Great video. As an INTJ myself you hit the nail on the head where you said we keep analyzing and sometimes fail to take action.

Talk about leadership, i always think that I'm sucks at leading people and doing things"together". But, since my younger age untill college, i always pointed out to be a leader even though i always decline their offer. But the thing that "forced" me to accept their offer is... I don't want things to be messed up by other people's inefficiency. So i decided to take the role as their leader. Now, I'm a project leader for the same reason.

Being a leader will never suck as an INTJ, as long as you're working with self-starters who are all competent & self-aware, and have no need or desire to be micromanaged.

My take on "FAIL" is Found Another Important Lesson. Love my Ni, Te But my Fi pulls me back so much at times. Great content (again) I found this very inciteful for my Ni, Te, Fi, Se :p to make me push myself. My take is I get afraid to get trapped where I don't have my freedom to move on to new subjects. I am better at behind the scenes where I feel more free to move about.

while growing up as an intj, i ALWAYS KNEW that i did not EVER want to follow a boss or manager because i KNEW that id pretty much always find a better way to do things better than my supposed boss or manager would come up with. i also admitted to myself that my ambitions were too weak to start my own company or something like that. THEREFORE, after seeing the TRUE VALUE of EDUCATION as i grew up, i decided that education is where i could most easily exercise the truest and best facets of my abilities and personality. 01. i would EASILY be the MASTER of my own workspace (the classroom) without exercising too much effort to get there. 02. i would easily make the most positive impact on the future that i possibly could by preparing other minds for the future. 03. after ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING impacts that i made on peoples lives while working as a teacher in a nonprofit environment, that cemented in my mind that i ABSOLUTELY NEEDED to take my teaching skills to the public sphere. sooo... THAT IS my next step.
