Hey, you've been asking for it, now it's here. A video on self-development for the INTJ personality type. I'm putting together some resources on cognitive function development right now, so let me know your experiences of your mind as an INTJ!

INTJ evolution Step 1: Plan and learn how to learn. Step 2: Inevitably come to not care or be concerned about belonging to the masses and form individualistic strength. At a point INTJ's free themselves up from a want to belong and once they do and stop being concerned of what others think of them they become bulldozing masters of their craft with little to nothing holding them back. Step 3: Self improvement and evaluation of resources. Once the intj is comfortable enough to find the value in themselves, they treat their time and attention as the greatest of commodities in their lives. They manage it and spend it on the mind, body and spirit, devoted and disciplined to their hobbies, career advancement, and making for the best possible future for themselves with enough awareness to not put all their eggs in one basket have plans for a multitude of possible scenarios going along with their key ambition.

Great work on the discussion. I agree that MBTI provides a rough outline of an individual but neither all the nuances nor the percentage of the individual's inclination towards a particular type. The "thinking - perceiving" issue is very real for me as an INTJ. At times, I have a concept or idea which I really like but I always seem to have a difficult time accepting the idea for what it is and executing it into reality, I tend to want to find the "best" concept but usually find myself in a circular loop, wasting a ton of time; I find this happens most when trying to build a new, unorthodox, system, in research or a general idea that I think could better an aspect of life.

The TP issue also manifests in a feeling that you can't advance your plan until you've acquired and perfected a large amount o skills, when in fact, you might already have what you need to succeed if you use your current resources wisely.

Wowwwwww this channel is insight after insight. I JUST had this with a comedy show I’m creating. I have a solid idea but for some reason i stop and think “if i had that idea there must be a better one in there. I’ll wait for the better one.” From experience, the better results come when i grab ideas as i fly past like leaves and I’m whizzing on a skateboard. If i move forward accepting that I’m not happy with the idea, at a later stage in the project I will be hit by a way to morph that initial idea into something exciting using the resources at hand. This later idea will be magic. It will fit the restrictions of the project, it will be DEVIOUsly good.

Wow. The bit about sticking too much to a plan got me right through the heart. I make plans to feel safe. If I don’t know what I’m doing it feels too loose, and i might get bored on one side but not want to do anything bc it’s too stressful, or on the other side perfectionism will take the wheel and I’ll overwork, burning myself out. But i have been struggling with the plans, feeling like I’m wearing something a half size too small. I want the rigidity because I’m scared of leaving it up to intuition. I’m scared if i relax the discipline i will collapse into oblivion - sink into a bean chair and die there (metaphorically - you get it.). Or maybe that if i do that trust fall, intuition won’t be there to catch me. Fuck’s sakes this is why i get food compulsions. This video described me and might articulate why I feel so uncomfortable in my life. I want to learn to do things i like in the way i like to do them. You’ve given me hope i can do that! I broke a plan to go back, rewatch and write this comment because it is important to me! 🦜

H Erik. I am Brazilian and I'm INTJ. I never met an INTJ here. The most of brazilians are extroverted, so I feel lonely..

I hate that kind of loneliness especially when it is a consuming loneliness that crushes the soul causing the depressions ultimately leading to what I call the death spiral especially when it compounds with other things turning inward. This world is very foreign to those who are rare especially when the culture of the nation or region does not match up at all, for me I am very much alone.

Hi Friend, I totally agree with your comments. It's hard to be introverted in a world that the majority likes to share each detail of their lives. Often, I feel lonely and sufocated here. I keep searching a real life meaning, but the life itself seems so randomic and a mess with nonsense. This loneliness consumes me until I can't breath properly. I feel like an alien in the middle of normal people...

Hey man here's the truth about loneliness. You're not lonely! You are surrounded by many people you just find it hard to find a like minded or someone who appreciates your ideas. But the truth is you don't need anyone to appreciate your ideas or similar mindset people. Remember that feelings are not facts. They are like passing clouds they come and go. Don't loose sight of what's real and don't fall victim to your own emotions which are just illusions.

As an INTJ, I like to wing it, keeping my theories and strategies intact but open to constant improvement. Listening to the opinions of others is part of this ever-evolving thought process.

Thanks Erik! Are our Fi/IF and Fe/FJ functions prone to creating problems like you say because we are not strong in them? rather than because they are problematic in themselves? Also don't circumstances force the use of our weaker functions? - e.g. for packing a suitcase I struggle to SJ it, even though I try to NJ it beforehand!
@ErikThor
@ErikThor 6 жыл бұрын
Your strength in them doesn't matter: You can use them well but you'll always risk using them while neglecting your own values and goals and interests. You'll be helpful but you'll also be exhausting yourself. You'll get order but you'll lose creativity.

Yes! I overdeveloped both my Thinking function and Judging function, and underveloped my Introvert and Intuition type. Do you have any specific pointers in how to increase my I and N and decrease my T and J. I'm thinking (thinking lol) this imbalance is what led me to my current mid-life INTJ crises that caused me to watch your video.
