I remember 7 years ago Leon came to my school and all of us watched the documentary. It is still one of the most memorable things I've ever seen and it was such an amazing experience. I remember asking Leon if he ever thought that they wouldn't be able to complete it and got him to autograph a piece of paper for me. I've lost it now 😔

Great work you guys! Your fortitude and equanimity has made it into boss level, that’s for sure 😋✌️ I’ve been in the Empty Quarter for the past three weeks, chilling with my camels, as office work back in Abu Dhabi has been suspended. Hence, taking advantage of the amazing technological age we live in, working from afar, with no humans in sight! Once again, much respect for your beautiful insight, and much-needed observation. Respect from an Arab!

Hey Al, just binge watched your KZbin Channel (not finished yet) and I really have to say: you are what you could call a modern adventurer! Thank you for showing us that adventure and exploration is everywhere we are and want to find it. Nobody needs to climb big mountains, cross the south Pole or go canoeing in Alaska to experience an adventure. Adventure is getting out of our comfort Zone, exploring new places and exploring new parts of ourselves. This can be everywhere and can happen by doing anything. Thank you for showing us your big and small adventures. Loved "my midsummer morning"! Perfect example of an adventure that Put you out of your comfort zone and having a good time whithout experiencing extreme temperatures or risking your life. Having crossed the alps being 15 years old, climbed some big mountains in the alps later, did some serious bike packing - my favourite adventure is still me and my buddy paddling down the rhein for two days in a way to little, way too cheap packraft we bought a few days before in the local hardware store for 20€. In the end a blackberry bush destroyed it while we were trying to get it onto the riverbank.

Totally fascinated by this adventure. This area has a history which has been mentioned in many ancient books including Holy Quran. Though the exact location has not been confirmed but it was somewhere in and around this area. So according to history, this desert was once a very green land full of fruits. There were tall buildings as the people who lived here were the most strongest and tallest that god has ever created. This human race was called quam-a-adh. Here Quam means race. They disobyed the messenger of God, prophet Hoodh (After prophet Noah and before propher Ibrahim) and invited the wrath of god who turned this land into a barren desert. A very very powerful wind blew which destroyed everything and killed everyone except those who obyed the Prophet. These people left the land prior to destruction and were unharmed. So until this day, there is nothing in this area except sand and dust, which these guys have experienced a lot..

When they were entering UAE and mentioned Burg Al Khalifa it reminded me the sayings of the Prophet Mohammad(Peace be upon him) that 1 - Abu Hurayra(Radiyallahu Anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The Final Hour will not come until people COMPETE WITH ONE ANOTHER in the height of their buildings.” ►{Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari by Imam Bukhari} 2 - In a hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari Prophet(Peace be upon him) said, ‘That the female slave should give birth to her mistress, and you see poor, naked, barefoot shepherds of sheep and goats competing in making tall buildings.’ 3 - When you see naked barefoot ones becoming the leaders of men, that is one of its signs. When the shepherds of lambs compete in constructing tall buildings that is one of its signs. ►{Version Recorded by Imam Muslim}

Amazing adventure. Would have been helpful to build the frame of your cart out of aluminium rather than stainless steel. Much lighter. Edit: also some sort of light weight balloon tires would ride ontop of the sand, while bike tires sink into sand due to narrow surface area. Hope this helps.
