Indeed she is. A very beautiful woman (ever see her with long hair?). I have to say that dress she has on is beautiful as well, particularly in the neck / shoulder area.

The instrumental version of the song Into the West plays at two points during the Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King itself: when Gandalf gives his "death is not the end" speech to Pippin, and when Sam literally picks up and carries Frodo up Mount Doom.

It's good that Fran Walsh stood her ground even when the orchestra tried to play them off. It was important to get that dedication to Cameron Duncan in there.

I am so glad that Miss Walsh got to give that last little dedication to the Duncans and their son Cameron. To anyone who has not seen the story of teenage filmmaker Cameron Duncan from the LOTR bonus features, it was really moving and inspiring...especially for me as a young filmmaker. You really should check it out.

Haha, Howard took his Academy Award for best soundtrack up on stage, so he's holding two Oscars, one in each hand. What a boss. Well deserved 11 Oscars for this masterpiece of a film and trilogy. We won't see anything like this in years, so we'll have to treasure LoTR.

And a huge thank you to Howard and crew for choosing 'Into The West.' over an earlier song. It helped Mom(Peggy Z) to heal after the death of her husband/our father(Wallace; of beloved memory), and for us grown kids when we lost her back in 2014. Mom was the greatest LOTR fan in our family; but of all the adaptions only Peter Jackson's films got her full approval.

This was the last Academy Awards i ever watched and Re-watched over and over again. As time pasted i became less enthused and now i don't even tune in anymore. Lord of the Rings was that last great Hollywood film (Not just in scale or how popular it was) But how it was made, the old school way, on real locations, real sets, with real actors, it was pure magic, when the 3rd film ended, i was a little sad, no more December movie to rush to with my family and friends that had been a 3 year tradition for us, and the Oscars played into our hearts to give that magical closure we needed. A few years later i moved to LA in pursuit of working on a film set like this, a set where everyone gets to express and share their passion of making movies...all these years later and still searching i second guess my choices every day my, and just have to remind myself about what a kind old Wizard once said and tell myself, all i have to do is decided what to do with the time that is given to me

The meaning of the song has been viewed from a myriad of perspectives: Galadriel singing to Frodo as she welcomes him to the ship, a bittersweet Elvish lament sung by Legolas for those who had sailed across the Sundering Sea, Sam's feelings towards Frodo as they complete their task and prepare to die on Mount Doom, or even Death itself singing to each member of the Fellowship as they prepare to pass away.

Beautiful touch by Annie too paying tribute to Michael Kamen, a prolific Hollywood composer who scored many films throughout the 80s, 90s and 2000s including Bond (Licence to Kill), Die Hard franchise, Lethal Weapon franchise and a project close to his real life work Mr Holland's Opus, as well as LOTR here. A long time collab of prolific action producer Joel Silver. RIP.

Powerful messages of friendship among the Hobbits and the other allies including different species. The seemingly meek Hobbits earn Middle Earth wide respect through battle and heroism. Theme throughout of sacrifice made in an immense struggle, including fighting against presumably impossible odds and overwhelming numbers, and trying to be brave against inevitable death.
