This isn't to different from how I felt after 6 grand mal seizures. Thankfully even though I still don't really know "who I am" it's much better. I have brain damage on my amygdala and hippocampus. I don’t know who I am either. I just except it now. I’m not normal. I had depression then, drugs raped, more drugs, being beaten, more drugs, more beatings, hitting and kicking my head. I can’t smell anymore. I am now a recovering drug addict on the methadone program, and I take medication for everything. But I haven’t used illegal drugs for 9 years. Also gave up alcohol for the most part.

It's there to help you and there's nothing wrong with it. I'm sure as time goes on you'll begin to discover yourself more and before you realise it you'll be at peace again. Times were though buddy, but you're still here and going. Be proud. Acceptance is the key. There isn't quite a definition for "normality", everyone has their own. For me, normality is when I'm at peace with how things are. For you, it can be something else. If your definition is something unachivable, then it's unrealistic and should be changed. This makes me all the more grateful how i came out of my trauma’s. Had a weird fever when I was young. Epilepsy started in the years after that, had many seizures, enough to damage the brain by itself. Later had left temporal lobe and bits of the hippocampus and amygdala removed. Now doing great, although I have permanent limitations of course, mostly in how much information and stress my brain can handle in a day.

I have suffered a lot of trauma to my brain from injuries due to what i raised to be. Im 41 and not that person anymore but my head bears the scars of a lifetime of violence. Ive been stabbed in the head 7 times with, screwdriver, hit with bricks, had my head stamped on. Ad to that a lot of self harm to try and stop my ptsd. Anyway in 2020 i had a car accident and suffered yet another serious concussion. That was the straw that broke the camels back, my memory was ruined, i forgot how to use a knife and fork, those who knew me say I'm not the same person. I wouldn't know I'm just me, id never tiuched alcohol prior and i now drink. I lead a very simple life now but i remember i didn't used to and never in a million years would i have been happy with the lifestyle i now have. The brain is a strange thing we don't consider the long term impact of head injury we just treat the immediate. Would i want to be how i was honestly i don't think so people like the person i was i can't stand now the only thing i wish i could change is the people i hurt and the people i lost.

PLEASE look into cerebrolysin, it has been shown in clinical studies to reverse severe cognitive impairments from traumatic brain injuries(TBI). It might not fix everything but it should help a lot. Cosmicnootropics is the only reliable source I know of. Praying for ya

Im 23 now almost 24 and barely anything has changed. I had meningitis when I was younger and afterwards i felt strange not the same. Could never get this over to people and sort of just got on with life. It was many years later i had an accident and had a brain injury. Lots of other things as well, but i had strange things happen i would just go into a sort of trance from a few moments to 10 min or more. I would be stock still even if stood up. I had terrible moods and hallucinations so real i could feel the air and smell with details that i should of not know about. Slowly over the years the episodes got further and further apart. if i get into a stressful environment i can get one or two symptoms again for a while. As my family know about this they allow me to work through it and if needed explain to others. Anyway i think I am trying to say the brain is a very complex organ and it can be effected by physical and mental health.

You should. I won't get into most of the details, but I was having Weird Head Problems. After a bunch of CAT scans and MRIs, a staph infection was found in my neck and spine. It was putting intense pressure on the base of my brain, all the way down to next to my heart. I had surgery 45 days ago, and feel 1000% better. Relearning to walk in that short of time was a bear, but it's absolutely possible. So yeah, get yourself checked. It could make things way, way better.

I wonder if in the future it may be possible to give back such a damaged part of the brain by utilizing the patient's own DNA to re-grow parts of the brain, coupled with re-training as it grows. In this way we might be able to cure Kulver-Busy Syndrome in the far-flung future by removing the damaged lobes and re-growing and re-training them rapidly. It is an organ after all.

IT’s possible or he was born with extra strong stomach acid (which comes automatically, it seems, with extra thick stomach lining); you may recall people who eat metal or cars, etc. They are real. The extra strong acid, whatever causes his rare mutation, breaks down food too quickly/too fast and they have a voracious appetite and eventually begin trying things like metal - this is how they get their minerals!

Interesting. When I was six years old I was violently attacked and rendered unconscious by the assailant. When I came to there's no real way to describe how I saw the world. My eyes were fine but everything was 'garbledygak' it was like my brain had no idea what my eyes were seeing. I was really never the same after that. I will on occasion 'lose' objects that are right in front of me. Or I will confuse one object for another one. Okay, it would be like picking up a ketchup bottle, red and all. You squeeze it onto your fries but white stuff is coming out. Then you look and see you are holding a squeeze bottle of mayonnaise. So I can never really trust my eyes. I drive okay but if there is a stalled vehicle on the road with no hazzies or anything my brain has a VERY hard time processing that. Traffic lights that are extremely close to each other is also not good. I will see the lights closer to me turn green because my brain processes the green light several yards away as the one in front of me.
