INTP Here. I am an Enterprise Architect, Management Consultant and Entrepreneur. INTPs are good as leaders once they are in the driver's seat as they are not good at following people they consider less capable than they are. Being a Management Consultant is also good as you can have an impact without being part of the corporate structure.

Unfortunately, most of these examples either A) require a specific skill set that cannot be obtained if you're past a certain point in your life, or B) are transient, fleeting, or extremely niche and thus very hard to find and/or not a stable way to make a living. And if you don't have a job that is specifically for that kind of purpose, other people will either not care or be annoyed, or they will take advantage of your skills while not rewarding you.

I'm a supply chain planning analyst. INTP is well suited but it's better to lean more towards the IT/ technology side rather than people-heavy jobs, which a lot of supply chain jobs are. Project management is also a people-heavy job. A more gregarious/ outgoing INTP would be great in it though you have to develop systems for follow-through and also make sure you are a communicator. INTPs can garble things when we explain them and you don't want to be on the receiving end of "I thought you said to do X."

I think solving social problems is one of the least likely things an INTP would do. First of all, logically, most people end up where they are due to personal choices, not the imagined society set against certain people. Second, most social changes require rules, sometimes very limiting rules, and INTP types don't like rules. Third, INTP's are not social themselves. Why would we want to put ourselves in the spotlight line this? We tend to keep to ourselves and I think most of us figure that the best way for the world to sort out it's social problems is for everyone else to be more like us. Actually think about what you are doing, don't react with an emotional response or do some crazy illogical thing on a whim. Last, my experience as an INTP my whole life has been that pretty much every other type really doesn't like us, so why would we go help them when they don't care about us? I figured out my life and have been quite successful, despite growing up poor, not fitting in with anyone because of my personality type, and dealing with the common set backs that have been described here in the work place where our bosses don't like how we can often do a better job than them making them look bad.

Go to Quora, read my answers on INTP vs INFP or ask me personally there. I use the same name.
@Jessica-kk1cz2 жыл бұрын
Interesting question. You might be in the middle. Each of those variables is a spectrum, vs. being binary. I’m right on the edge of an INFP and INTP, but I trend slightly more to the INTP. And you might fuse things together in the world too. For example, at work, you might believe in doing things because they’re the ethical thing to do, and how that will make people feel, that may seem like INFP. But if the main reason is ‘doing the ethical thing" is the more logical thing to do, because it benefits a social structure such as the local reputation of the business, or you believe collaboration is more important to the functioning of the business team, that is rationalizing the emotions of others and that may be more INTP. Some questions may be - do you watch and read fiction or nonfiction more? Do you like reflecting on facts or learning about systems (even if they’re social systems), or do you like reflecting opinions and feelings more (even your own)? Do people legitimately feel you’re sometimes insensitive and do you care about that, or do rarely people think you had any intention of being insensitive and you care? For example, I don’t like nonfiction. It seems a waste of time to me. My brother, an INFP, always enjoys a "good movie". I don’t bother watching those unless someone makes me, or if it has some other quality like good art. I watch documentaries, discussions, and videos almost exclusively about science or history or economics, architecture and design, geopolitics, etc. I’ll research a topic to death, come up with a framework to try to understand it better, that any further information would fit into. Then I might consider what other people think about it. Or I might not. I don’t really care. Unless they have a logical way it can be improved, which can be interesting. That said if someone has more understanding or knowledge about a topic, I’ll ask for their input first, to help me get a starting point of knowledge on the topic. I really appreciate that from folks. I have no hesitation telling people when they have a wrong fact or belief system. It helps them, I believe. Even if they’re surprised, I don’t feel much. It’s not that I don’t care, but I think it’s more important to help them by being honest. I’d want the same and wouldn’t be offended, if someone did the same for me. I’m often surprised to later hear that someone was offended, and in some cases, I’ll be offended that they were offended, because people should be able to tell anyone the truth if it’s just a fact (vs. opinion). My brother, the INFP, will weigh whether it makes sense to risk upsetting someone before correcting them, and then he’ll sugar coat it a lot. For example, he makes the extra effort when correcting someone to say, "I can see what you mean, or I understand how you feel, but have you thought about x". Anyway, before I starting going down an even longer INTP diatribe, those are just some initial thoughts. Good luck!

Those two buzz phrases have been used for decades by the left and other bad actors to recruit their little armies of useful idiots to show up and protest for causes they can't define or describe, but they can think they're heroes for participating when the fit takes them. Instead, if everyone would apply themselves in public school, purposefully get a trade or profession that provided at least a living wage, work the job ethically, manage their money sensibly, pay their taxes, refuse to do crime, form and care for families responsibly and with love- or be single responsibly, take care of their stuff, consistently practice common courtesy, embrace humility and help their neighbors when needed...THAT WOULD make a huge difference and change the world. Just be a good citizen and responsible adult.
