Great info. 1. Does IO PRP require sedation via anesthesia? 2. What is the downtime/limitations after this procedure? Can I walk immediately afterwards?

IO is not actually bad at all, more of a mental thing. In my opinion injecting a painful ligament, disc, or tendon with PRP is much worse. People can walk right away. We do have people rest from high level activity like running but easy activity like walking is ok as tolerated.

Hey Darian. We're not quite there yet. Maybe soon. For joint arthritis I typically use more than just PRP in the joint. Usually plasma concentrate (also called autologous protein solution) or bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC). Those are in addition to this option of intraosseous PRP. We are seeing slowing or stopping temporarily of the degenerative process. There have been cases where they have shown regeneration with repeated procedures including the associated ligaments. But really we need more evidence and better treatment options before we can really say that.
